Crow Print Shawl Designed by : Brooke A Campbell Inspired by the coming of spring and the going of the crow, this shawl is a quick knit in fingering weight yarn. The main pattern is the Haapsalu "Crow's Foot," letting the memory of a few of winter's crows leave their mark in knitting before spring entirely takes over. The crow foot itself is enjoyable and easily memorized. Size is adjustable, with a border that can be started after any full pattern repeat.

Things To Be Familiar With:A knowledge of how to yarn over, knit, purl, knit two together, and slip knit pass slipped stitch is

necessary for this piece. Familiarity with central double decreasing is also encouraged, but it isexplained in the stitch key. Chart reading is critical.

Materials:2 balls of KnitPicks Palette, colour Grass (roughly 1.5 balls used)

set of US 10.5 ( 6.5mm) needlestapestry needle to weave in ends

Stitch markers, if desiredSize After Blocking:

The piece featured in this pattern blocked out to 2 yards (72 inches) across and 32 inches long.Your piece may block larger or smaller depending upon needle and yarn choice and your

personal style of knitting.Gauge:

No gauge is given for this piece as lace gauge is personal preference. I would recommendswatching with different size needles using one to two repeats of the central pattern, blocking as

you will for the final shawl to determine what you would like to use.Pattern Notes:

The charts are charted up to the center stitch. In the border and main chart, this is shown byseperating the edge stitches and central stitch with a thick red line. You will knit the chart right toleft to the center stitch, knit the center stitch, then knit the chart once more, ending with two edgestitches in place of the center stitch. For row by row instructions, you will knit from * to *, work

the center stitch, and then repeat * to * again. Instructions in [ ] are the crow pattern.
