Day 1 - Tucson to RiversideTravel to Riverside, California where we stay one night at the Hyatt Place, centrally located in the beautiful downtown. Riverside is known for its dining scene and you’ll have a free evening to explore. Day 2 - Santa BarbaraWe spend the morning traveling to Santa Barbara, where we start with a harbor cruise of the town’s coastline before checking in for 3 nights at the Harbor View Inn, a resort style hotel with an ideal location. Our hotel is within walking distance to State Street, the beach and Stearns Wharf, which is the oldest working wharf in California. Tonight, we will enjoy a group dinner in Santa Barbara. (B,D)Day 3 - Santa BarbaraThis morning we have a guided tour of the historic Old Mission Santa Barbara, founded by the Spanish Franciscans in 1786. Next, we have a group lunch and then a guided tour of the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. SBMA’s renowned 27,000-piece permanent collection spans both the centuries and the globe. Day 4 - Santa BarbaraThis morning an easy 45-minute drive over the hill into the Santa Ynez Valley reveals rolling vineyards as far as the eye can see and a quintessential wine country experience winding through the area’s small communities. A local

guide will take us on a tour of this beautiful region, including wine tastings and a picnic lunch. We have some free time in the afternoon to take in the sea air or further explore the town of Santa Barbara and tonight we will have a farewell to Santa Barbara dinner at a local restaurant. (CB,L,D)

Day 5 - Channel Islands & Palm DesertWe visit the Channel Islands National Park Visitor Center. Channel Islands National Park encompasses five remarkable islands and their ocean environment, preserving and

protecting a wealth of natural and cultural resources. After lunch we travel to Palm Desert and check in for one night at the Homewood Suites, which offers a complimentary evening reception with light snacks and drinks or you can walk to several restaurants. (CB,L,R)

Day 6 - Joshua Tree NP & Travel HomeOn our way back to Tucson, we visit Joshua Tree National Park, with two distinct desert ecosystems, the Mojave and the Colorado. A fascinating variety of plants and animals make their homes in a land sculpted by strong winds and occasional torrents of rain. We have a picnic lunch and then travel home. (B,L)
