New features, mobility and enhanced secure IP peering and access

Timico Strengthens Unified Communications with GENBAND’s Leading Carrier VoIP Solution

ChallengeTimico, an independent communications service provider that specializes in voice and data con-nectivity solutions for businesses in the United Kingdom, needed to increase the competitiveness of its Unified Communications solution with new multimedia features and mobility. Additionally they were looking to provide secure IP access and peering capabilities to connect its users calls with other networks.

SolutionGENBAND, who installed the EXPERiUS Communications Application Server in Timico’s net-work in 2005, enhanced its capabilities with the Receptionist Console, Personal Communica-tor Softclient for the desktop and GENCom Softclient for Smartphones, providing a mobility solution to both SMB and Enterprises; a solution that allowed Timico to provide Mobile Office Unified Communications using Broadband IP Networks (3G, HSPA, LTE and WiFi).

GENBAND also provided hosted Mobile Endpoint Provisioning that automatically provisions the GENCom Softclients for a faster and easier deployment.

Additionally, GENBAND provided the Intelligent Session Border Controller (SBC) and the GENView Real-time Session Manager (RSM), which equipped Timico with market leading secure IP Access and Peering capabilities including IP Interconnect, SIP Trunking, QoS and CAC.

ResultGENBAND’s solution allowed Timico to expand its IP interconnect capabilities with other service providers both nationally and internationally at multiple centers, enabling the latest in IP voice services between carriers.

With additional EXPERiUS capabilities, Timico got multiple new business features that allowed them to better compete in the Hosted Uni-fied Communications SMB and Enterprise market.

The introduction of the QUANTiX SBC enabled Timico to provide cost-efficient all-IP interconnection capabilities and Call Admission Control features for a secure and reliable IP Access. The GENView RSM enabled them to monitor QoS and profitability on their IP Interconnections and dynamically react to network congestion and disturbances.

Finally, GENBAND’s GENCom Softclient for Smartphones allowed Timico’s customers to carry their business line with them on the go, and benefit from cost savings by carrying their voice calls over a broadband data plan or even WiFi hotspots.
