TEACHING AND LEARNING IN SCIENCE OF MIND CLASSROOMS
Let us begin this section with a quote from our Founder, Ernest Holmes in The Science of Mind:
Peace be unto thee, stranger, enter and be not afraid.
I have left the gate open and thou art welcome to my home.
There is room in my house for all.
I have swept the hearth and lighted the fire.
The room is warm and cheerful and you will find comfort and rest within.
The table is laid and the fruits of Life are spread before thee.
The wine is here also, it sparkles in the light.
I have set a chair for you where the sunbeams dance through the shade.
Sit and rest and refresh your soul.
Eat of the fruit and drink the wine.
All, all is yours, and you are welcome.
May this be the spirit and vibration in each of our Science of Mind classrooms!
Online Teachers
Expressing from the consciousness Ernest Holmes so beautifully established in The Science of Mind as quoted above, CSL Online
Educators are specifically trained to teach and facilitate in online environments. Teachers of the Science of Mind do this by
creating a student-centered teaching and learning environment which is attractive, warm, joyful, spiritually inspiring, diversity-
honoring, intellectually challenging, and practically useful.
Online Students
Online students are dedicated to the study and practice of Science of Mind. Student participation is expected and encouraged
in online classes. It may be required to connect with classmates during the week to build and develop relationships. Every effort
is made for students to have a quality and sacred online educational experience.

Troward argues from basic principles we all understand, and shows how these principles may be carried into the future. He
relies on the maxim that “Principle is not bound by precedent,” and by the premise that we are not only able, but also
required, by the law of our own being, to take a more active part in our personal evolution than has ever occurred in the past.

The focus of the first term of Professional Practitioner Studies is on how individual lives get to be the way they are. Time is devoted to studying the various aspects of life that impact us without our conscious awareness. With an understanding of how these things happen through the action of the law, students can release their emotional bondage to persons and conditions, and take conscious responsibility for their lives. The focus of the second term of Professional Practitioner Studies is on living a life of choice. As we look more deeply into the Universal Creative Process and how each of us uses it, we will be consciously choosing spiritual principles to live our individual lives more fully. The focus of the third term is on the individual’s ability to live life fully. The students step into their true identity, aware of their wholeness, and deeply knowing their own spiritual nature. Each will see oneself as a beneficial presence, ready to take his/her place in the world as a spiritual leader. Each will develop the vision, the tools and the wisdom, to be Living Life Fully. The focus of the first term of this year of Professional Practitioner Studies is on the skills required to put into professional practice all that you have learned about how the law of cause and effect and the creative process work in peoples’ lives. The focus of the second term is to study the consciousness that heals and spiritual healing. The Consciousness that Heals is the consciousness that lives in the Presence. It is the consciousness that knows, in truth, that there is nothing to be healed—there is only a greater Truth to be revealed. Students learn and practice client sessions in this term. The focus of the third term is on living life as a professional practitioner in the world. Utilizing all the skills and tools learned, this term is dedicated to the service and business of practitioners in the world. Length of Course: 30 Weeks (over 3 terms) plus the required In-Person Retreat Textbooks: The Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes
