Worth Magazine Ranks Camp Tecumseh
the #3 Summer Camp in the WORLD!
Yes, you read it correctly. The world. Long time CT’er
Campbell Levy broke the news perfectly by writing:
“Apart from the fact that Worth magazine got it way wrong
and has CT as #3, as opposed to its rightful spot at the top,
this is pretty cool!”

Board Approves New Indoor Facility and
Breaks Ground on October 27th, 2010
Camp Tecumseh’s Board of Trustee’s did their homework and landed on the decision to go
ahead with the construction of an indoor, multi-purpose facility that will be ready for use during
Summer ’11! As you can see, the building will keep to the original style of the existing buildings
on campus and fit in seamlessly! The building will be erected on top of the old hockey court and
next to the basketball courts. The facility is 8,000 square feet and will feature:
A multi-purpose, composite flooring
A full length basketball court with 2 courts running side-by-side - 6 total hoops
A new Woodshop
Lobby with awards/memorabilia display
Full length porch
3 large swing open doors for nice days
There are many good reasons that went into the decision to add this building, none more signifi-
cant than to combat the problem of inactivity during consecutive wet days. As more campers
choose to stay a week or two less than the full stay for various reasons, the Camp’s programs
can no longer afford to lose more than a day of action. This building allows the programs and
outside competition to run uninterrupted regardless of the weather. We will consistently keep
you updated through the Newsletters as to the progression of our new building!

ALUMNI WORK WEEK
Thursday, June 23rd - Sunday, June 26th, 2011
Come up to Camp for a long weekend or a part of the weekend and help us get
Camp together for the summer! Sleep in the cabins, eat in the dining hall, run a
high noon, swim in the lake, go to JoJo’s, bbq at the waterfront at night...and get
put to work by Mr. Fraser and Mr. Glascott for a few hours! Oh yea, and get a
first look at the new indoor facility! More details released next month!!
With our books closed on September 30th, the Blue-Gray Fund reached the $150,000 goal for the
first time in many years! Thanks to all of you, we raised about 15% more than last year - which
bucks the national trend of being down 11%! We were able to offer that much more financial
aid and scholarships to qualified and deserving families. We haven’t hit the $150,000 number in
many years and we thank you for your recommitment and generosity to get us back to that level!
As demand for financial assistance becomes greater and the need to attract the right campers
away from other summer specialty camps grow, your support of the Blue-Gray Fund has never
been more important. There are many elements that make Camp Tecumseh the greatest place
on Earth, but none are more important than great campers. With your support of the Blue-
Gray Fund, we can continue to fill Camp each summer. The Annual Report and 2010-11 Blue-
Gray Fund appeal will be in the mail soon, so keep Tecumseh in your charitable gift plans!
THANK YOU!!!THANK YOU!!!THANK YOU!!! 2009-10 BLUE-GRAY FUND REACHES GOAL OF $150,000!

Recently Henry Roosevelt (CT 1998-2009) made the transition
from The Opera House to The Big Screen in the up and com-
ing major motion picture, The Social Network
(The Facebook Movie). The first scene Henry is in is about 20
minutes in-- the rowing scene. He is wearing a bandana and,
typical of a true Tecumseh man, a Camp Tecumseh Shirt
(although you might not be able to make out the CT). Then
other quick scene is 40 minutes in, where he is eating a burger
with 3 of the principal actors in a diner as they go over a text
message. Here is a link to the trailer. Henry's scene is included
for a brief second at the 01:23 mark of the clip. Henry plans on
pursuing more roles on the big screen and promises to repre-
sent CT as much as possible. He is also already 60 pages into a
Tecumseh Screenplay, "The Counselor's Handbook"!
