Cultavit® – a buckwheat complex
At the centre of the Cultavit®process are theseeds of buckwheat – Fagopyrum esculentum.
Despite its name buck“wheat“,the plantis classedas apseudocereal,and does notbelong to thegrass family of Poaceae.
Buckwheat has been used as acrop for manycenturies – inEurope,as well as inChina- and hasmassively gained interest,as its flour is glutenfreeand its protein is of highbiological value (>90%),as it contains allessentialamino acids.

Cultavit® - why is a natural environment preferable?
Why are vitamins inanatural environment„better“than their isolated counterparts?Chemically,they are identical.However,whereas inthe labvitamin E,for example,is D-alpha-tocopherol,inaplantlike rice,orpalm,you willfind8isomers,4tocopherols,4tocotrienols – all„vitamin E“.
Inamulti-vitaminformulation,L(+)-ascorbicacid is used,inaplantyou willhave certainbioflavonoids „around“the molecule to assistits efficacy and its mode of action.
Ananalogy is the differentimpact we feel whenwe listento asoloist – or anentire orchestra!
Cultavit® – the process
TheCultavit®process is insimpleterms acopy ofwhat nature is doing – inacontrolled andoptimised version.
Afterwashing and apeeling step inwhich the skinof the seeds is gently removed,the seeds aresoaked inanaqueous medium.
Thismediumcontains nutrients inaconcentrationthat is most efficient for nutrient uptake.External conditions,mainly temperature,arecontrolled.Theseeds are continuously moved.
Theseeds start their germination process which ismonitored and terminated at the correct time.
Cultavit® – the „broth“
Theaqueous mediuminwhich the buckwheatseeds take up the nutrients – the „broth“–consist of carefully selected nutrients that areperfectly suited for the process.
One major requirement is solubility inwater.
Allnutrients are suitable for vegetarians andvegans.
Theseeds start their germination process whichis monitored and terminated at the correct time.

Theconcentration,the exact nature andcomposition of the nutrients inthe Cultavit®are part of the proprietary process and willbe disclosed only aftersigning asecrecyagreement with the client.
Thenutrients have been carefully selectedaccording to their bioavailabilty during thegermination process.

Cultavit® – the concentrations
For the concentration of each nutrient inthegerminated seed,there is anatural maximum level.
Theseed is aliving organism and the germinationprocess is alife process.Hence the seed has anatural maximum of nutrient concentration it canincorporate into its structures.
Inthe case of Cultavit D3,the maximum ofCholecalciferol the germinating seed can takeup is inthe area of 14.000to 18.000i.u/g.
We specify aminimum of 10.000i.u/g.

Buckwheat conveys apositiveimage of „anancient grain“that has been re-discovered.Whereas untreated buckwheat flowers andunpeeled seeds contain Fagopyrin,Cultavit®is free of this allergen.

Cultavit® - stability
Whereas synthetic vitamins undergo adegradation process that need overdosage,Cultavit is very stable.Stability tests carried outin2011showedthat allvitamins retained their values over aperiod of 14months.
Cultavit®is heat stable:Used for theenrichment of bread,Cultavit®Vretainsapprox.90%of the vitamins afterthe bakingprocess and 100%of the minerals and traceelements.
Cultavit® - taste and odour
Cultavit®vitamins and minerals are mainlymilled buckwheat seeds – with apleasanttasteand odour.
Cultavit®is water-dispersible and suitable touse for functional drinks as well as bars,capsules,tablets or more traditionalfoods,suchas pasta.
Cultavit® - tolerability
Ironproducts generally have alow compliance,since about 40%of consumers react with gastricproblems.About 20%of users of Zinc productshave gastro-intestinalcomplaints that often leadto change of product or the discontinuing of thesupplementation.
Cultavit®embedded vitamins and minerals donotprovoke suchreactions.They are gentle tothe GIsystem and get gradually available,thusavoiding the known complications.

Cultavit® - the „clean label“ ingredient
According to EUregulations,products containingCultavit®are legally labelled as „buckwheatcomplex“,or „vitamin rich buckwheat complex.
There is no need to specify the originalvitamins ormineral,e.g.„Pyridoxin HCl“.
Theprocess is neither defined as a„fertilisationprocess“,nor as anenrichment process.Thebuckwheat seeds are natural foods that have takenup and incorporatednutrients during anaturalprocess of germination.Assuch,the nutrients neednotbe declared individually.
Inthe table of contents,however,the vitamins andminerals can be listed with their RDA.
