Apreciados amigos de Cumbre del Sol,
Ya hemos llegado a la mitad del 2018 y, una vez más, el Residential
Resort Cumbre del Sol no deja de sorprendernos con sus
novedades, como la llegada de la segunda edición del Newsletter.
El año 2017 y primera parte del 2018 ha sido un año fantástico en
el que se han superado todas nuestras expectativas por la
increíble acogida que ha tenido la Newsletter, así como el alto
grado de participación de los vecinos en las diferentes
actividades, por eso os damos las gracias desde estas líneas.
El Resort sigue creciendo y mejorando, y con ello la llegada de
nuevos vecinos que deciden hacer de Cumbre del Sol algo más
que un lugar de vacaciones, un hogar donde disfrutar más tiempo
con su familia y amigos, un lugar donde ver crecer y educar a sus
hijos. A ellos les damos la bienvenida.
Entre las acciones realizadas desde el primer número de la
Newsletter, me gustaría destacar la llegada del espíritu de la
Navidad a Cumbre del Sol, la decoración de las entradas del
Resort, así como el concurso de decoración navideña entre los
vecinos. Además, la celebración del 1º Día del Árbol en el
Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, donde se plantaron más de 300
árboles. También ha sido importante la inauguración de la
ampliación del Colegio Junior del Lady Elizabeth School, que
continuará con la próxima apertura para el curso 2018/19 del
Colegio Sénior, y la reciente inauguración de las pistas de tenis y
las nuevas instalaciones del restaurante 'Como en casa'.
Desde Grupo VAPF no queremos parar aquí y por eso estamos
preparando una serie de actividades para esta segunda parte del
año a las que estáis todos invitados, y en las que esperamos
vuestra presencia.

Dear Cumbre del Sol friends,
We are now half way through 2018 and, once again, the
Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol always surprises us with new
developments, like the arrival of the second edition of the
Newsletter.
In 2017, and in the first half of 2018, have been fantastic and have
exceeded our expectations thanks to the incredible welcome that
the Newsletter has had, as well as the great involvement of the
neighbours in the organised activities and so, from these lines, we
would like to thank all of you.
The Resort continues growing and improving, and that brings new
neighbours who decide to make Cumbre del Sol more than just a
holiday place but rather a home where they can enjoy more time
with family and friends, a place to bring up and educate their
children. We welcome all of them.
Among the events carried out since the first edition of the
Newsletter, I would like to highlight the arrival of the Christmas
spirit in Cumbre del Sol, the decorations at the entrance to the
Resort, as well as the neighbours’ Christmas decoration contest.
Moreover, the celebration of the 1st Day of the Tree at the
Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, where over 300 trees were
planted. The inauguration of the extension to Lady Elisabeth
School Junior College has also been important, and this will
continue with the coming opening of the Senior College in the
2018/2019 course, and the recent inauguration of the tennis
courts and the new installations at the ‘Como en casa' restaurant.
At VAPF Group we don’t want to stop there and that’s why we are
preparing a series of activities for the second half of the year and
you are all invited, and we hope to see you there.

Apreciados amigos de Cumbre del Sol,
Ya hemos llegado a la mitad del 2018 y, una vez más, el Residential
Resort Cumbre del Sol no deja de sorprendernos con sus
novedades, como la llegada de la segunda edición del Newsletter.
El año 2017 y primera parte del 2018 ha sido un año fantástico en
el que se han superado todas nuestras expectativas por la

Eloy y Celia son los gerentes del
Restaurante La Cumbre desde hace 25
años. Abrieron el restaurante un 18 de
abril de 1993 a las 18:00 de la tarde y
desde entonces atienden a sus clientes
con la misma ilusión que el primer día.
¿Por qué escogisteis Cumbre del Sol
para desarrollar vuestro negocio?
Eloy- Nos ofrecieron la gestión del
restaurante y cuando vinimos a verlo nos
quedamos prendados de las impresionan-
tes vistas que ofrece sobre el mar.
¿Qué tipo de cocina ofrece el restauran-
te La Cumbre?
Celia- Ofrecemos una cocina mediterránea
y tradicional de mercado, utilizamos
productos de temporada, y cada 3 meses
cambiamos nuestro menú para adaptarnos
a éstos. Además intentamos introducir nuevos platos para
innovar, y que nuestros clientes fijos no dejen de sorprenderse.
Eloy- Por mi trayectoria trabajando en la hostelería como
comenté anteriormente, al trabajar en el hotel suizo conocí
algunas recetas de este país, y de la vecina Francia. Estos platos
los ofrecemos en el restaurante La Cumbre, como por ejemplo el
Chateaubriand que es el solomillo de ternera salteado y al horno,
que se consume muy poco hecho, y tiene muchísimo éxito en La
Cumbre.
¿Qué tipo de servicios ofrecéis en el restaurante La Cumbre y
qué horario está abierto al público?
Celia- Por la mañana abrimos el bar a las 11:00 para servir
desayunos, todos los días excepto el lunes que es nuestro día de
descanso.
El horario de comedor es de 13:00 a 16:00 y para el servicio de
cenas de 19:00 a 22:30 de la noche. En verano ofrecemos un
servicio de piscina que abrimos de junio a septiembre, un bar
que da servicio a esta piscina desde las 11:00 de la mañana hasta
las 19:00 de la tarde.
Eloy- También hacemos eventos como bodas y comuniones,
vienen de todos los pueblos cercanos de Residential Resort
Cumbre del Sol. Algunas celebraciones de asociaciones de
vecinos, eventos del Grupo VAPF como por ejemplo la fiesta
Belga.
Además ofrecemos comidas para llevar como paellas, ya que hay
gente que realiza celebraciones en sus casas y prefieren llevarse
la comida.

of April 1993 at 6pm and ever since, they
have attended to their guests with the
same enthusiasm as the first day.
Why did you choose Cumbre del Sol to
start your business?
Eloy- We were offered the management of
the restaurant and when we came to see it,
we were fascinated by the views over the
sea.
What type of cuisine does La Cumbre
restaurant offer?
Celia- We offer Mediterranean and
traditional market cuisine, we use seasonal
products and every 3 months we change
our menu in line with the season. Moreover,
we try to introduce new dishes to innovate and so that our
regular customers are always surprised.
Eloy- Thanks to my experience working in the hotel business, as I
mentioned before, working in a Swiss hotel I got to know about
some of the country’s recipes, and some from neighbouring
France. We offer these dishes in La Cumbre restaurant, like
Chateaubriand, which is sirloin that is sautéed and then roasted
in the oven, eaten very rare and it is very popular in La Cumbre.
What type of services do you offer in La Cumbre restaurant
and what are the opening times?
Celia- We open the bar at 11am to serve breakfast, every day
except Monday, which is our day off.
The dining room is open for lunch from 1pm to 4pm and dinner is
served between 7pm and 10.30pm. We offer a poolside service in
summer and we open that from June to September, a bar that
serves the pool from 11am to 7pm.
Eloy- We also cater for events like weddings and first
communions and the people come from all the towns near
Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol. Some celebrations for
neighbourhood associations, VAPF Group events like the Belgian
festival.
We also offer take-away meals like paellas, because there are
people who hold parties in their homes and prefer to take the
food away.

Los alumnos de Year 5 y Year 6 abrieron la ceremonia con dos
canciones hermosas: 'Look into the Fire, un cántico tradicional, y
'One More Step Along the World I Go', un himno de Sydney Carter.
A continuación se cortó la cinta en la entrada del nuevo edificio,
permitiendo así a los padres, alumnos, personal y otros invitados
entrar y ver la fantástica ampliación. Los alumnos pudieron probar
las pizarras interactivas entre otros materiales, así como la nueva
pista deportiva. Fue una ceremonia inaugural con muy buen
ambiente y emoción por parte de todos los que han hecho posible
este proyecto.
Ahora nos espera el próximo gran acto en septiembre con la
inauguración del Senior School del Lady Elisabeth. Un colegio del
siglo XXI con unas instalaciones que nos sorprenderán a todos.

Resort Cumbre del Sol participants and neighbours. An event that was livened up with music, toasts
and a cocktail.
Lady Elisabeth School extension inauguration was a very
emotional day, not just because of the Cutting the Ribbon
Ceremony, but also because of the presence of important figures
in Cumbre del Sol, like the Mayor of PobleNou de Benitatxell,
Josep Femenia and the Director of ISP Schools in Europe, Nick
Rugg and Vicente Mestre from VAPF Group.
The Year 5 and Year 6 pupils opened the ceremony with two lovely
songs: 'Look into the Fire, a traditional song, and 'One More Step
Along the World I Go', a hymn by Sydney Carter.
Then the ribbon was cut at the entrance to the new building,
allowing the parents, pupils, personnel and other guests to enter
and see this fantastic extension. The pupils were able to try out the
interactive boards, among other materials, and the new sports
areas. It was an inaugural ceremony with a great atmosphere and
emotional for all those who made this project possible.
Now we are waiting for the next big event in September with the
inauguration of Lady Elisabeth Senior School. A college from the
XXI century with facilities that will surprise everyone.

importance of planting trees. The organisation of
the Day of the Tree at the Residential Resort
Cumbre del Sol is an initiative for all of those
people who feel responsible for the environment.
The 27th of April was a very special day at the
Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, around 70
school children were taken by buses provided by
VAPF Group to an area in Lirios in Cumbre del Sol.
There they were welcomed by the Mayor of
PobleNou de Benitatxell who addressed them
with some brief and entertaining words. In
additional to neighbours from Cumbre del Sol, the
VAPF Group Sales Department and some parents
also took part.
Organised in groups of 4 or 5, supervised by an
adult, they took part in planting trees from the
pinusgriffithii species, and then they watered
them. The day ended having a great time in the
open air and enjoying the marvellous views that
Cumbre del Sol offers.
The entire VAPF Group team feels proud of this
initiative and we hope that more days of the tree
will come and that we can count on your
collaboration.

On the 12th of May, VAPF Group
inaugurated the tennis/paddle court and
the “Como en casa" restaurant. An event
that all the residents of the Residential
Resort Cumbre del Sol and neighbours of
PobleNou de Benitatxell were invited to.
The inauguration started with the Mayor of
PobleNou de Benitatxell’s speech, Josep
Femenia, accompanied by the councillor
for sport, Manolo Segarra. Once the speech
was over, there was an exhibition tennis
match between professionals led by Dylan
Mary, in charge of managing the courts.
Later on, the catering and tasting session of
Mari Paz’s cuisine began, the owner of the
"Como en casa" restaurant located in the
same sports club.
It was a day together in community and
very entertaining as those who attended
could enjoy a very pleasant time at the
Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, livened
up with music, food and drink, activities for
the kids, the spectacular views and, of
course, the company of our neighbours.

La inauguración comenzó con el discurso

Una vez finalizado el discurso, se dio paso a
la exhibición de un partido de tenis entre
profesionales de la mano de Dylan Mary,
responsable de la gestión de las pistas.
Posteriormente se inició el catering y
degustación de la cocina de Mari Paz,

situado en el mismo club deportivo.
Fue una jornada de comunidad muy entre-

Josep Femenia, alcalde del poble nou de benitatxell
Josep Femenia, Mayor of Poblenou de Benitatxell
Josep Femenia es el alcalde del Poble
Nou de Benitatxell desde 2015. Desde
entonces hasta ahora está en RED, un
partido que nació de la lucha contra la
corrupción y en el que se ha sentido
muy cómodo todo el tiempo.
¿Podría contarnos su trayectoria
política hasta la alcaldía del Poble Nou
de Benitatxell?
La primera vez que me presenté fue en las
elecciones de 2007 donde sacaban un
concejal por Compromís. Iniciamos un
trabajo prácticamente en la oposición
para luego en las elecciones del 2011
conseguir un resultado extraordinario
que fueron 6 concejales. Accedo a la
alcaldía con un pacto con el CCD Centro
Democrático. En el 2015 me presento a
las elecciones con RED, donde consigo 3
concejales y en un pacto con P.D.I.P
consigo la alcaldía.
¿Qué representa Cumbre del Sol para
el Poble Nou de Benitatxell?
Cumbre del Sol es el núcleo poblacional
más importante, también por su
demanda de servicios, su peso social,
urbanístico y económico que tiene sobre
el Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Garantizar
los servicios es el reto más importante
que se tiene, no solo en Cumbre si no en
el resto de las urbanizaciones. Garantizar
los servicios me refiero como al
suministro de agua regular, las luces, el
sistema de alumbrado, alcantarillado,
vigilancia, limpiezas y el plan de asfaltado
que tenemos previsto va a suponer un
esfuerzo económico importante; no solo
en Cumbre del Sol insisto, si no en todo el
municipio. En el próximo plan de
asfaltado quisiéramos modificar créditos
por valor de un millón de euros, pero esto
depende de la voluntad del pleno.
El equipo de gobierno espera que los
partidos de la oposición favorezcan estas
inversiones.
Cumbre del Sol marca un antes y un
después del turismo, antes de que llegara
el turismo la economía del Poble Nou de
Benitatxell se basaba en una economía
agrícola, y ahora por la demanda de
servicios que llega de las urbanizaciones
y sobre todo desde Cumbre del Sol se ha
pasado a una economía de servicios.
Cumbre del Sol es un reto, pero con la
colaboración que se está teniendo con la
empresa Grupo VAPF, entendemos que
todo aquello que se ha ido planteando se
va haciendo realidad y se está consi-
guiendo un clima positivo.12

Cumbre es también un mosaico de
nacionalidades, es un polo de atracción
para el negocio y la imagen turística del
municipio, como el colegio internacional
Laude Lady Elisabeth Senior, la bandera
azul que acaba de obtener la cala del
Moraig y la vuelta ciclista.
¿Qué características tiene el vecino-
residente de Cumbre del Sol?
Yo distinguiría entre residentes y turistas,
los residentes disfrutan de una estancia
más larga en Cumbre del Sol, son
normalmente propietarios y son de una
edad más avanzada. Éstos aportan
riqueza cultural y que nos recuerda día a
día que estamos en Europa. Los turistas
son los ocupantes estacionales, vienen
principalmente en alquiler y normalmen-
te se enamoran del municipio y vuelven.
Tanto los residentes como turistas para
mí son ciudadanos de Benitatxell y se
merecen el mismo trato y cariño que toda
persona merece.
¿Cuáles son las prioridades de
infraestructura para el Poble Nou de
Benitatxell? ¿Qué proyectos piensan
realizar en estos próximos años?, y
¿cómo afectan a los vecinos del
Cumbre del Sol?
Como comentaba anteriormente la
garantía de los servicios es la mejor
tarjeta de presentación que puede tener
un cargo público. Garantizar los servicios
es garantizar el agua potable de forma
ininterrumpida, mantenimiento de las
aguas fecales, la depuración de estas
aguas que actualmente es excelente, la
fibra óptica, el tema de la seguridad
como la revisión de bocas de hidrantes
para prevenir los incendios, tema de
policía y vigilancia, los voluntarios como
bomberos voluntarios y protección civil...
En el tema de mantenimiento se hicieron
dos planes en su día de señalización, está
toda la señalización de Cumbre del Sol en
tiempo y forma excelente, se acaba de
inaugurar un punto verde en la zona
Lirios, tenemos muy presente la cobertu-
ra de telefonía móvil, la recogida de
basuras que se municipalizó en su día y se
está dando un muy buen servicio sin
necesidad de aumentar el impuesto.
Otro tema sería terminar todas las
recepciones, para ello estamos trabajan-
do para que todo lo que se recepcione

un plan de asfaltado ambicioso, el
ayuntamiento es un ayuntamiento
saneado y podemos invertir la cantidad
de un millón de euros y restaurar todas
aquellas calles que no estén como los
residentes se merecen.
Otro tema que también se está trabajan-
do muchísimo es la mejora de los accesos
a Cumbre del Sol, se están realizando
reuniones con la Diputación de Alicante
ya que es competencia suya, está
estudiando implantar una rotonda por la
CV-747 ya que facilitaría mucho más el
acceso a la urbanización.

What are the characteristics of the
Cumbre del Sol neighbour-resident?
I would distinguish between resident and
tourist, the residents enjoy a longer stay
at Cumbre del Sol, normally they are
owners and more elderly. They bring
cultural wealth and they remind us, day
after day, that we are in Europe. The
tourists are seasonal occupants, they
mainly come to rent and normally fall in
love with the municipality and then come
back again. Both the residents and the
tourists, for me, are citizens of Benitatxell
and they deserve the same treatment and
warmth that everyone deserves.
What are the infrastructure priorities
for PobleNou de Benitatxell? What
projects are going to be carried out
over the next few years? and, how does
that affect the Cumbre del Sol
neighbours?
As I mentioned before, guaranteeing
services is the best calling card a public
post can have. Guaranteeing services is
guaranteeing non-stop drinking water,
maintenance of faecal waters, the
treatment of these waters which,
currently, is excellent, fibre optics, the
subject of safety and security like the
revision of water hydrants to fight fires,
policing and vigilance, volunteers like the
vo lunteer fi re-fighters and c i v i l
protection...
Regarding maintenance, two signposting
plans were made and all of the signpos-
ting in Cumbre del Sol is up-to-date and
in excellent form, a green point has just
been inaugurated in Lirios, we are very
aware about mobile phone signals,
rubbish collection that became a
municipal responsibility and is giving a
very good service without having to
increase taxation.
Another theme would be to finish all of
the transitions and we are working hard
so that they are managed in the most
optimal way possible, like the installation
of lights for example, which will be LED so
that consumption is reasonable, daily

to Cumbre del Sol, and I would highlight
something that I am very enthusiastic
about, and that many residents and
neighbours in Cumbre have requested,

streets that are not in the conditions that
the residents deserve.
Another theme that we are also working
hard on is improving the accesses to
Cumbre del Sol, meetings are being held
with the Alicante Council as it is their
competence, and they are studying
putting a roundabout on the CV-747,
which makes it much easier to access the
estate.

urbanism weight that it has on PobleNou
de Benitatxell. Guaranteeing services is
the most important challenge it has, not
just in Cumbre but also in the rest of the
estates. By guaranteeing services I mean
things like the water supply, lights, the
street lighting, drainage, security,
cleaning and the paving plan that will
soon be carried out with a large econo-
mic effort; I insist, not just in Cumbre del
Sol, but in all the municipality. In the
coming paving plan, we would like to
modify loans worth a million Euro, but
that depends on the will of the Plenary.
The governing team hopes that the
opposition parties favour these invest-
ments.

Josep Femenia es el alcalde del Poble
Nou de Benitatxell desde 2015. Desde
entonces hasta ahora está en RED, un
partido que nació de la lucha contra la
corrupción y en el que se ha sentido
muy cómodo todo el tiempo.
¿Podría contarnos su trayectoria
política hasta la alcaldía del Poble Nou
de Benitatxell?
La primera vez que me presenté fue en las
elecciones de 2007 donde sacaban un
concejal por Compromís. Iniciamos un
trabajo prácticamente en la oposición
para luego en las elecciones del 2011
conseguir un resultado extraordinario
que fueron 6 concejales. Accedo a la
alcaldía con un pacto con el CCD Centro
Democrático. En el 2015 me presento a
las elecciones con RED, donde consigo 3
concejales y en un pacto con P.D.I.P
consigo la alcaldía.
¿Qué representa Cumbre del Sol para
el Poble Nou de Benitatxell?
Cumbre del Sol es el núcleo poblacional
más importante, también por su
demanda de servicios, su peso social,
urbanístico y económico que tiene sobre
el Poble Nou de Benitatxell. Garantizar
los servicios es el reto más importante
que se tiene, no solo en Cumbre si no en
el resto de las urbanizaciones. Garantizar
los servicios me refiero como al
suministro de agua regular, las luces, el
sistema de alumbrado, alcantarillado,
vigilancia, limpiezas y el plan de asfaltado
que tenemos previsto va a suponer un
esfuerzo económico importante; no solo
en Cumbre del Sol insisto, si no en todo el
municipio. En el próximo plan de
asfaltado quisiéramos modificar créditos
por valor de un millón de euros, pero esto
depende de la voluntad del pleno.
El equipo de gobierno espera que los
partidos de la oposición favorezcan estas
inversiones.
Cumbre del Sol marca un antes y un
después del turismo, antes de que llegara
el turismo la economía del Poble Nou de
Benitatxell se basaba en una economía
agrícola, y ahora por la demanda de
servicios que llega de las urbanizaciones
y sobre todo desde Cumbre del Sol se ha
pasado a una economía de servicios.
Cumbre del Sol es un reto, pero con la
colaboración que se está teniendo con la
empresa Grupo VAPF, entendemos que
todo aquello que se ha ido planteando se
va haciendo realidad y se está consi-
guiendo un clima positivo.12

Cumbre es también un mosaico de
nacionalidades, es un polo de atracción
para el negocio y la imagen turística del
municipio, como el colegio internacional
Laude Lady Elisabeth Senior, la bandera
azul que acaba de obtener la cala del
Moraig y la vuelta ciclista.
¿Qué características tiene el vecino-
residente de Cumbre del Sol?
Yo distinguiría entre residentes y turistas,
los residentes disfrutan de una estancia
más larga en Cumbre del Sol, son
normalmente propietarios y son de una
edad más avanzada. Éstos aportan
riqueza cultural y que nos recuerda día a
día que estamos en Europa. Los turistas
son los ocupantes estacionales, vienen
principalmente en alquiler y normalmen-
te se enamoran del municipio y vuelven.
Tanto los residentes como turistas para
mí son ciudadanos de Benitatxell y se
merecen el mismo trato y cariño que toda
persona merece.
¿Cuáles son las prioridades de
infraestructura para el Poble Nou de
Benitatxell? ¿Qué proyectos piensan
realizar en estos próximos años?, y
¿cómo afectan a los vecinos del
Cumbre del Sol?
Como comentaba anteriormente la
garantía de los servicios es la mejor
tarjeta de presentación que puede tener
un cargo público. Garantizar los servicios
es garantizar el agua potable de forma
ininterrumpida, mantenimiento de las
aguas fecales, la depuración de estas
aguas que actualmente es excelente, la
fibra óptica, el tema de la seguridad
como la revisión de bocas de hidrantes
para prevenir los incendios, tema de
policía y vigilancia, los voluntarios como
bomberos voluntarios y protección civil...
En el tema de mantenimiento se hicieron
dos planes en su día de señalización, está
toda la señalización de Cumbre del Sol en
tiempo y forma excelente, se acaba de
inaugurar un punto verde en la zona
Lirios, tenemos muy presente la cobertu-
ra de telefonía móvil, la recogida de
basuras que se municipalizó en su día y se
está dando un muy buen servicio sin
necesidad de aumentar el impuesto.
Otro tema sería terminar todas las
recepciones, para ello estamos trabajan-
do para que todo lo que se recepcione

After the great success of the National Belgian Day festival that was held for the first time last year at the Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, with over 290 people taking part, on the request of many of the guests, we have decided to repeat the event on the 21st of Ju ly 2018 , in La Cumbre r e s t au ran t and w i th the collaboration of Belles Villas Costa Blanca. We are organising it with much enthusiasm in order to surprise our guests and, of course, have a pleasant, fun evening.
Tras la gran acogida que tuvo la fiesta del Día Nacional Belga que se celebró por primera vez el año pasado en Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, y en la que asistieron más de 290 personas, por petición de muchos de los invitados, hemos decidido repetir el evento el próximo 21 de Julio 2018, en el restaurante La Cumbre y con la colaboración de Belles Villas Costa Blanca. Estamos llevando la organización con muchísima ilusión para poder sorprender a nuestros invitados, y por supuesto, pasar una noche agradable y divertida.

Tras la gran acogida que tuvo la fiesta del Día Nacional Belga que se celebró por primera vez el año pasado en Residential Resort Cumbre del Sol, y en la que asistieron más de 290 personas, por petición de muchos de los invitados, hemos decidido repetir el evento el próximo 21 de Julio 2018, en el restaurante La Cumbre y con la colaboración de Belles Villas Costa Blanca. Estamos llevando la organización con muchísima ilusión para poder sorprender a nuestros invitados, y por supuesto, pasar una noche agradable y divertida.
