• Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Petroleum andNatural Gas & Skill Development and Entrepreneurship willlaunch SATAT initiative in New Delhi on 1st October, 2018.

• The aim is to promote Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) productionplants and make available CBG in the market for use inautomotive fuels.

• SATAT: Sustainable Alternative Towards AffordableTransportation.

• The National Policy on Biofuels 2018 emphasises activepromotion of advanced bio-fuels, including CBG.

• The Centre had launched the GOBAR-DHAN (GalvanisingOrganic Bio-Agro Resources) scheme earlier in 2018 to convertcattle dung and solid waste in farms to CBG and compost.

• Compressed Bio-Gas can be produced from various bio-mass/waste sources, including agricultural residue andmunicipal solid waste among others.
