Inspirational Learning on the Mornington Peninsula Curriculum Library The Mornington Secondary College Library has a new home. We are now located in the Administration building in a very bright, airy room. It is a lovely place to be if you want to read quietly at lunchtime. There are always new books coming in and the very latest arrivals are displayed at the front of the library near the doorway. There is a great variety to choose from. Teachers can book in their classes to visit the library and allow students to have a quiet reading session. Lots of library books are available for students to read as part of the VCOP/ CAFÉ program. There are baskets of books which teachers can take to class and these can be updated as necessary. At lunchtimes, the library is open to all students. Students are welcome to come in to read, do homework, chat with friends or maybe even do some colouring (materials are available). We will be adding more activities during the year. There is a Book Club which runs every Wednesday and Thursday at lunchtime and is open to any interested students. Please come and enjoy the Mornington Secondary College Library. Student Wellbeing A secure, comfortable and caring environment is essential for successful and fulfilling learning. The team responsible for student wellbeing at Mornington Secondary College consists of Jenny MASON Assistant Principal/Team Leader Wellbeing Kudzai GUTU Student Wellbeing Counsellor (Years 8 and 10) Paula PINKNEY Student Wellbeing Counsellor (Years 7 and 12) Renee FREMLIN Student Wellbeing Counsellor (Years 9 and 11) Jon GIBSON Chaplain (Years 7-12) Suzie ADSETT Adolescent Health Nurse Pauline MAGRIN Inclusion Coordinator (Learning Support) Sheila WIGLEY Doctors in Schools Program Lead We work in consultation with parents, teachers and outside agencies to ensure that students’ concerns are addressed with care, respect and confidentiality. Our team also aims to promote awareness of wellbeing issues within the community such as party safe practices and anti-bullying strategies. We welcome communication with parents as they know their child better than anyone else; please contact a member of the welfare team to discuss any aspect of your son’s/daughter’s wellbeing.

The Mornington Secondary College Library has a new home.

We are now located in the Administration building in a very bright, airy room. It is a lovely place to be if you want to read quietly at lunchtime.

There are always new books coming in and the very latest arrivals are displayed at the front of the library near the doorway. There is a great variety to choose from.
