As faculty liaison, I was charged with working with area high school teachers to facilitate the College Achievement Program, which allows high school students to earn college credit while enrolled in specific high school classes.

Assisted in the development of the Criminal Justice Studies Major at the University of Southern Indiana (Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminal Justice Studies). As part of this process, I worked with other faculty members to develop a Criminal Justice Studies Major at University of Southern Indiana (within the Department of Sociology), Fall 2007 – Spring 2009. Criminal Justice Studies Major was successfully established during the Spring semester of 2009.
Development of new Criminal Justice Internship at the University of Southern Indiana: worked with the USI Department of Security to develop a new Criminal Justice Internship that provided one more security officer in their Department per semester.
Participated in the 2008 Summer Institute on Service Learning (Summer 2008): I provided a presentation/discussion on the Inviting Convicts To College Program during one session of this institute (University of Southern Indiana).

Group Registration Meetings for CJ Majors at UWO (Spring 2010): Moderated registration meetings for CJ students with fewer than 60 credits (8 one-hour meetings).
Developing and Offering a Course on Police Discretion (Fall 2010): In an effort to address the need to “… strike a balance between corrections and policing …” (as suggested in Dr. Byers’ external review), I have begun to develop a policing course focusing on police discretion. This course will first be offered and taught by me as a Special Topics Course during the Spring Semester of 2011. I will then seek the approval of the department and college to establish this course as a regularly taught elective course, which will be added to the criminal justice curriculum.
Co-author (with Dr. David Jones) of the Criminal Justice Internal Program Review, UWO (2009). and the response to the external review of the criminal justice program (External Reviewer: Dr. Bryan Byers, Ball State University).

Internship Coordinator, University of Southern Indiana (Spring 2009): My responsibilities included organizing and coordinating the internships for the criminal justice studies program. This included the coordinating of five internships.
Member of the Sociology Assessment Committee, University of Southern Indiana (Fall 2008 – Spring 2009): I served on the Internal Sociology Program Assessment committee (chaired by Dr. Steve Williams), which was charged with assessing the sociology curriculum for the sociology major.
Chaired Department Committee to re-organize the Criminal Justice Internship program, as well as, develop new criminal justice internships for the newly developed criminal justice studies major at the University of Southern Indiana, Fall 2008 – Spring 2009.
Proctoring Department Assessment Tests for the Sociology Major (Spring 2008): (University of Southern Indiana).
Development of Criminal Justice Assessment (Spring 2008): I worked with Dr. Todd Schroer to develop the Criminal Justice Program Assessment criteria, which would be used to internally evaluate the criminal justice studies program five years after the Criminal Justice Studies Major was established (University of Southern Indiana).
Criminal Justice Program Coordinator for CJ Program at UWO: I served as CJ coordinator for the program (Fall 2006 – Spring 2007).

Curriculum Development: Additions made to University of Wisconsin Oshkosh-CJ curriculum: CJ 281 (Elementary Statistics for Criminal Justice Research—first offered in Spring of 2004), CJ 352 (Organized Crime—first offered during winter interim 2004), CJ 351 (Theories of Crime—first offered during Fall 2004), CJ 353 (Convict Criminology—first offered during the Spring semester of 2006).
Public/Community Service
Member of the Oshkosh Community Circles of Support (Spring 2010 – Present): The Community Circles of Support enlist community volunteers to regularly meet with women and men who have recently been released from prison in an attempt to help them transition from prison to living back in the community.
Coordinated and Administered the Inviting Convicts to College Program at Oshkosh Correctional Institution. I began the pilot program at Racine Correctional Institution in 2003. The program teaches prisoners about college expectations, college enrollment procedures, and financial aid opportunities.
Coordinated the Inviting Convicts to College Program at Vanderburgh Community Corrections Center in Evansville, Indiana (University of Southern Indiana)
Member of an Evansville Police Department Promotional Assessment Board: As a member of this committee, I worked with fellow committee members to assess Evansville Police Officers for promotion (University of Southern Indiana).
