Terminal trailer trestle is a device which releases the towing truck for more productive use while the

semi-trailer is loaded or unloaded in a terminal.

Translifter is a steerable lifting trailer which together with cassettes replaces roll trailers in RoRo and

StoRo handling.

Cassette for Container Terminals

The cassettes are detachable steel platforms, which containers can be loaded on for transporting.

The cassette can handle one 20, one 40or one 45 container if needed. There is also apossibility to double stack containers on the cassette. In that case the cassette can take two 40

containers or two 20 containers. One of the advantages of using cassettes is that they act as afloating buffer, since containers can be placed on the cassettes with or without being coupled

to a vehicle.

TTS Liftec cassette or pallet is a loading platform which is used together with a translifter in a

cassette system. Cassettes are specially designed depending on the cargo and handling type.

Gantry cranes are especially used for container handling. These cranes are fitted with spreaders

that can be adjusted for twenty foot, forty foot and forty-five foot containers. Some of them can

also be adjusted for twin lift.

Some ships are fitted with cranes, which can also be used for container handling. These cranes

are operated by trained and experienced personnel.
