The challenge:
• Our client came to us with an urgent requirement and problem offshore. They had a 132mm umbilical jammed in a J-Tube coming down from a rig after it was pulled through the J-Tube by a surface winch.
• The umbilical jammed at 12t pulling force from the winch and there was a lot of unknowns as to why it was stuck.
• The project scope was to design an ROV deployable tool that could pull the umbilical back out of the J-Tube by mating up against the entry bell housing and pulling the umbilical subsea.
• The deadline for concept submission was 24 hours from the initial meeting.
S
• ROVQUIP came together with a clamping and pulling mechanism within the timescales given and presented it to the client for review:
• The basic concept was that we would design a customised clamp that could be mounted underneath an ROV. The clamp would close with a force below the crushing force of the umbilical and would then push against the bell housing with the maximum force that the bell housing surface area could withstand.
S
• The client was pleased and an order was placed. A prototype was Fabricated and assembled within 4 days to prove the concept…..
• A full Mock up of the offshore bell housing and J-tube entry was designed and fabricated by our neighbours (at the time) Fabritech UK.
S
• The finished product was manufactured, assembled and tested within 5 weeks…..
From Concept…. To Completion……
S
• The tool was mobilised offshore with two tooling technicians to support offshore operations following a successful FAT.

The Internal Tree Cap cleaning brush was designed and manufactured in a short lead time for a client with a specific diameter that needed to be cleaned and with no standard market solution:
The XLX rear mounted fluid injection skid was designed for a client who needed a low cost, low flow acid injection skid. The skid mounts to the rear of the frame and was made from light weight aluminium and comes with a low pressure jetting system and acid resistant reservoir.

The 10k FPIS is a skid that was designed for pressure testing subsea trees. FMC designed a 4 port and 6 port hot stab that had different pressures at different ports ranging from 50PSI to 10K PSI. The challenge for the client was that there wasn’t a market solution where they could test each pressure on the tree in a single dive.
ROVQUIP designed a customised pump, valve panel, valve pack and configured the system onto a universal work class ROV skid.
Our solution is currently supporting field operations and is saving the client considerable vessel time during pressure tests.

The AUXROV was designed for a client working in the windfarm market. They were conducting boulder clearance operations and needed an ROV that could launch and recover with a 1.6ton hydraulic grab and lift loads of up to 10 tons.
Aleron Subsea designed and manufactured the AUXROV. A highly capable 200hp system which delivers enough power to run mass flow excavators and has enough electronic outputs to run full survey skids.
