My present status as a freelance senior ceative allows me to pursue a Masters Degree in Design Enterprise, Otago Institute of Design (completion May 2010).

In my studies, I have a special interest in ethical and social design. I have the abilities to guide companies through the journey of improving sustainability, and how this applies to practical business sense and outcomes.

Career Summary

My creative foundation comes from working extensively in many fields of visual communication and marketing, servicing a diverse range of enterprises. I have worked internationally in: United Kingdom; Sweden; Holland; Canada; Singapore; Malaysia; Australia and New Zealand. I have managed campaigns ranging from $10,000 to $5 million (Singapore).

I have experience working in a diverse range of industries including: finance, tourism, environmental, social, theatre and film, publishing, extreme and traditional sports apparel design.

My clients include: Fed Ex, Eftpos, Travelbag Adventure, Thomas Cook Group, Philips Design, NZ Post, Ministry of Education NZ, Dulux Paints. G-Star Jeans, Speedo Europe, Adidas UK, Avia Athletic, Helly Hansen, Chocos Footwear, Teva Footwear.

Environmental clients include: Ministry of Environment NZ, The Sustainable Group, Sea Shepherd, Green Peace, Forest and Bird, Department of Conservation.

Proven operational skills are as follows:

• Solution concept to execution: competency translating client meetings to application studio briefs, identifying the client’s wants and the customer’s needs, under-standing the creative opportunities within the market and applying them to the job in hand.

• Teaming and collaboration: identifying and prioritising creative design solutions within cross-functional teams. Proven experience within client briefing and presentation, business development, photography and illustration art direction, artwork and junior creative management.

Personal InterestsMy recent studies in the realms of ethical design have lead me to understand how design adds real value in a society today. How can we improve the richness of communities, while maintaining a standard of living today, and long into the future.

When not deep in creative thought, I love to play in Mother Nature’s back garden (bicycles, kayaking, surfing). Other intersts include: expedition/nature film, bicycle travel, Spanish culture . Cooking good food with friends.

Wilderness management, sustainable communities and architecture. Geopolitics, philanthropy and conservation issues.
