Profile:My keen interest in the marine environment, with special regard for species diversity, and elasmobranchs has driven me to succeed in a marine related career path from a young age. In seeking to further my knowledge of a wide range of topics within a marine focused framework, I have completed, a B.Sc. (Hons) in marine biology at Wales University Bangor.

My undergraduate degree provided robust understanding of marine biology, and marine ecology, as well as a specialised focus on species diversity. The topic of my Honours dissertation was the growing global population of gelatinous zooplankton, which has given me a solid understanding of topics currently prominent in marine world discussion.

Bangor University has outdone its illustrious reputation, providing me with the platform to excel in an array of topics. I am now confident in my understanding of marine organisms, oceanography, ecology and much more.

Aside from my university achievements, I have completed six years as an RAF cadet, reaching the rank of Sargent; in light of my recognised leadership, commitment and organisational skills. I feel I am an intelligent individual, and extremely eager to develop my career.

Marine Vertebrate Biology BSc (2009) – The University of Wales- Bangor, UK.Whilst studying at Bangor University I have covered modules focusing on many elements of Marine Biology related study. My experiences have seen me fulfil investigation of marine processes and systems, to understanding marine mammal observation, to completing practical dissections and specimen collection aboard the Prince Madog (the universities’ expedition vessel). I have excellent experience at university collecting and analysing data, using quadrat sampling data, and specimen collection. This experience I believe gave me the knowledge to attend and complete my PhD.

GCSE’s 2002-2007- I achieved 15 GCSE’s all A* -C including Maths, English Literature and Language, and Double Award in Science. Btec 2006- I have a Btec National Diploma at Distinction level in Public Services. As/A Levels 2007-2009- I achieved 4 A Levels; English Literature and Language, Triple Science Award (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), General Studies and Theatre Studies. In addition to this I was selected as both a senior Prefect, and as house captain.

2016- Present OC-Research. Research Assistant- Shark Biologist.Working alongside Dr. Jonathan Werry, I have been collecting and analysing data for stable isotope analysis on a multispecies project, looking at 8 species of shark around the East Queensland coastal areas. We are currently in the process of making a documentary with The Discovery Channel regarding shark tagging and satellite tracking.

2016-Groves College. Laboratory Technician and STEM Project Coordinator.I work within a Chemistry and Biology wet lab. I take care of the whole science department, and I am responsible for all chemicals, data analysis, and projects.

I have taken on the task of instructing children of all ages, and providing them with a foundation of knowledge about our oceans, including conservation projects, current problems within the marine world, anatomy of marine organisms, and expanding their minds to provide understanding of how vital our oceans ecosystems are. Our projects have included beach clean ups, species diversity expeditions and dissections of marine animals. My goal here has been to provide the minds of the future with the passion and knowledge to help protect our oceans in years to come.
