Philippe Lamberts

Background:

Philippe Lamberts is born in 1963 in Brussels, Belgium. He is married and has 4

children. He studied Engineering in applied mathematics, at the Catholic University

of Louvain. From 1987 to 2009, he worked in various commercial functions at IBM.

Political involvement:

In Belgium, in Ecolo (Belgian green party) :

1991-2003 : Member of the local Council of Anderlecht (Brussels).

1999-2003: Advisor for the cabinet of Isabelle Durant (Green minister) on

international relations and security.

At the European level:

1999-2002: Representative of Ecolo at the European Federation of Green parties

2002- 2006: Member of the executive committee of the European Federation of

Green parties, then transformed in European Green Party.

2006 - 2009: Co-president of the European Green Party - with Ulrike Lunacek

(Austria).

2009- 2011: Co-president of the European Green Party - with Monica Frassoni (Italy)

2009-2014: Member of the European Parliament, in the Greens/Efa group. Member of

the committees "Economic and Monetary affairs" and "Industry, Research and

Energy". Member of the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China

and the Delegation for relations with the United States.
