CyberPsychology: Delivering insight at the human/technology interface
HUMAN TECHNOLOGY
Contribution DS – 1 – 2014 Privacy (Partner)
• Understanding privacy as a cyberpsychological concept– Need to factor in the human as an individual, rather than ‘user’– Privacy is essentially identity X territoriality
• Gender, demographic, temporal aspects
– Anonymity vs. utility in datasets– Ethics in analysis: Quis custodes ipsos custodies– Empower users by pushing data/analysis back to them
• Move towards ‘little data’, i.e. idiothetic rather than nomothetic, Life-logging, wearables and sousveillance
• Non-privacy: services that do not require log-in• Collective privacy: total intra-organisation transparency
