Home Corner – Chinese restaurant This week we are

celebrating Chinese New Year and

learning all about the festival including

tasting Chinese foods.

Book Corner – following our healthy lifestyles theme we are

reading ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We have masks to support the children at acting

out the story.

Fruit and vegetable shop

- We have added labels in English and Chinese for the children to

put price tags on the products.

Maths - cutting and

sticking different shapes to make Chinese dragon

Creative area - junk modelling to

make Chinese dragons and lanterns and

learning about the special things used

to celebrate Chinese New Year Festival.

Construction area - bricks with

different food groups on for the children to sort into groups and

learn about the importance of a

balanced diet

Mark making area

cultural differences

Outside – sand kitchen with utensils following

our healthy lifestyle themes and the

children’s love of baking and

exploring foods

Large paper and mark making materials for

supporting the children’s gross motor skills and pie recipe sheets for children to make up

their own recipe for the sand kitchen.
