Director, Mr

Brian Mercer,

conducted a

professional

development

session for all

teachers on Student Voice. To have a ‘voice’, students

become active participants in meaningful discussions

about what and how they learn. They can give input and

suggestions which are actively sought by the school

community. Three parts to having a voice include:

1. sharing genuine ideas and thoughts in a trusting and

respectful way

2. offering realistic suggestions for the good of everyone

3. accepting responsibility for what you suggest AND what

needs to be done.
