KEEP IT UP BALLERS!

WAY TO GO!!

HAPPY SUMMER BALLERS!HAPPY SUMMER BALLERS!

Happy Summer Ballers,

Finally the school year is done! This marks the halfway point for many of us. Congratulations to our seniors! You have all made a huge impact on your com-

munity and I know that you are all going to du such amazing things in the future. You will be truly missed and we wish you the best in all of your future en-

deavors.

Thank you for the successful Officer Training Conference, Division Wide Service: Relay for Life, and June Division Council Meeting. If you were unable to

attend Officer Training Conference and would still like to receive training, please let me know as soon as possible so that we can schedule a training together.

As the saying goes, I want to "teach a man how to fish" and not simply give a man a fish to feed them for a day. I am incredibly impressed with all of the ser-

vice Division 8 has done. We passed 1000 hours in two months! Look at what we can do in the next 11 months we have in our terms. A volunteer is not paid

because they are worthless, but because they are priceless. Don't forget to continue doing service over the summer. Set a goal today for the number hours of

service you hope to do by the end of the year. The value of a volunteer in California is about $26.34 an hour!

The Division Leadership Team is planning big things for the rest of the year! Our next Division Council Meeting is a Summer Olympics for the month of

August! Come battle it out head-to-head. Don't forget to come decked out in your Division 8 Spirit Attire! Also, watch out for new videos I will be making. I

am extremely excited about how far we have come! You are truly inspirational to me and your dedication to service does not go unnoticed.

Thank you, Ballers!

Lynch Canyon Clean-Up

On a sunny Saturday morning, I wouldn't have imagined my-

self and other Key Clubbers hacking away at weeds and wires in

the middle of Lynch Canyon. This has been the first event in a

while where I really got to get down and deep into my service.

There was this odd satisfaction of knowing I had watered a whole

field of plants and removed all these weeds. Despite the Ox

Tongue weeds sticking to my jacket and dry plants poking at my

pants, Vanden along with the Fairfield members had a great time

doing a different kind of service event. It’s safe to say that a manu-

al labor service event is refreshing and rewarding. Hope to see

more Key Clubbers at Lynch Canyon!

Officer Installation

American Canyon's Officer Installation was a great way to start the summer for Key Club members and new of-ficers. Key clubbers competed in a leg race tournament, chased each other in a friendly game of Cat & Mouse, and smashed whipped cream into the faces our future leaders of Key Club. Members showed the importance of participa-tion, commitment, bonding, and most importantly Key Club spirit! Everyone enjoyed socializing and playing games on their first day of summer vacation. Installation 2015 was a huge success and another event to put into the memory vault."

Loma Verde International Night

This event was really grand. A lot of people came with a variety of unique foods from their home country. We helped out with the food and the children perform-ing. In the gym, large flags were on the wall with bright colors. The kids who were performing, dressed in their own country’s traditional clothing. They sang happily. After the whole event was done, we stacked the chairs, cleaned the tables, sorted out the trash, and brought dishes to the staff lounge to be cleaned. This event was a great event to help out with.
