Daddy (Telugu: ) is a 2001 Telugu film. The moviestars Chiranjeevi and Simran. It was produced by AlluAravind on the Geetha Arts banner under the directionof Suresh Krishna. The film was successful at the boxoffice. It was released on 4 October 2001.

1 Plot

Raj Kumar or Raj (Chiranjeevi) is a rich audio com-pany owner who owns a modern dance school. Danceis his passion and his life till he meets and marries Shanti(Simran). They have a daughter Akshaya (Anushka Mal-hotra). Raj believes in his friends and does anything forthem. However, they take advantage of him and usurphis wealth. Though Raj and his family are happy in theirnot-so-lavish lifestyle, their happiness is shattered whenAkshaya becomes ill with a heart condition. Raj insteadof bringing the money Shanti had stored in the bank tothe hospital to save Akshaya, uses it to save his formerdance student Gopi (Allu Arjun), who was hit by a car.Shanti, who is pregnant, leaves him because she feels thathe killed their daughter.Six years later, Raj, who is once again wealthy, sees hissecond child, Aishwarya (Anushka Malhotra), who looksexactly like his Akshaya, in whose honor he builds a foun-dation which takes care of poor, unhealthy children andtheir families. He builds a relationship with Aish withoutShanti’s knowledge. However, Shanti finds out, tries toreconcile with him after realizing her mistake, but doesn'tbecause she sees him with the same friend who took ad-vantage of them earlier. Raj agrees to leave, says a finalgoodbye, and as he is about to leave, sees his child caughtin an accidental fire at her school function. He saves her,but he is wounded. Shanti sees how much he loves herand Aish and they finally reunite.

The production company was Geetha Arts and the dis-tributors were Geetha Film Distributors (Nizam Area).

4 Songs

The audio was released on 14 September 2001. The fansof Chiranjeevi all over the state organized the audio re-lease of the film and they selected the district headquar-ters as the venues and invited the top-rank governmentofficials and politicians.[1] Music was composed by S. A.Rajkumar and the lyrics were provided by Chandrabose,Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry, Bhuvanachandra and Srini-vas. The songs were received well by the audience.

5 Box office

Daddy was successful at the box office, Completing 50days in 97 Centres[2] and 100 days in 24 Centres.[3] Itwas dubbed in Hindi as MERI IZZAT.
