Regardless of the medium, you will find the modern architectural styling of Daniel Chavez in everything from the tattoos of his clients to the murals he creates. After many years in the building industry, he continues to expand his reach into various facets of the art and design world. Daniel is now breaking into the fashion industry with his own unique clothing line under the name, vdv. The brand combines the elegance of fashion photography and combines it with modern architectural elements in both screen printed and sublimated clothing.

Growing up in the once diverse streets of Denver’s Highland and Sunnyside neighborhoods, Daniel has now made DCM a permanent fixture in the community. He continues to promote interdisciplinary design within tattoos, murals, fashion, fine art, graphic design, furniture design and architecture. The belief that true artistry is derived from innovation married with creativity fuels Daniel’s work and has earned him numerous sponsors and partnerships. The desire to innovate rather than perpetuate another’s creation or trend is what keeps DCM moving toward creating timeless and classic works of art.


Daniel Chavez was born and raised in the Sunnyside neighborhood of Denver, Colorado who had expressed an interest in art from a very young age. Daniel derives much of his inspiration from the philosophies of the Bauhaus School of Design but his true inspiration ultimately stems from contrast in its purest form.

Since beginning his art education at the Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design, Mr. Chavez has studied animation, illustration, and fine arts, but has concluded his academic career with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design and High Performance Building. He began his professional career working closely with interior designer Jeffrey P. Elliott, in 2006 producing architectural models for clients such as president of the Denver Art Museum, Lotus Entertainment Nightclubs and numerous custom furniture pieces. His work has been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Luxe Magazine, 5280 and others.

Daniel now pursues his many passions as a commissioned designer under his cross disciplined, brand Daniel Chavez Murals. He is a commercial muralist, interior designer, illustrator, furniture designer, tattoo artist, screen printer and fine artist. His work can be viewed at various galleries, while his murals, interior design and tattoos can be viewed anywhere from public streets, nightclubs, high schools, and numerous places throughout Denver. More recently Chavez has begun creating his own clothing line under the brand name, DCM. He now currently pursues his love of philanthropy by teaching and mentoring local area teen’s in martial arts throughout Denver.


The multimodal mind of Daniel Chavez has allowed him to work within many different areas of art and design. His strong architectural and interior design influenced style has become recognizable in the tattoo, fashion and fine art scene throughout Denver’s influential Highland neighborhood. DCM has become much more than just a single designer; it is a full functioning, cross disciplinary art and design studio employing the expertise of design professional from fashion to graphic design. Aside from Daniel developing his own brand, he now partners with such organizations as Denver North High School, Benjamin Moore Paint, Alpha Graphics, The Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design and many others in creating murals, architectural projects, apparel, and marketing materials. Whether teaching martial arts to youth or working on his latest design, Chavez is always evolving.
