Island Family Conference Aug 12-14, 2016. Fr Clair Watrin announced as Keynote speaker. He is excited to speak to families on the mission given to them, and will inspire parents, grandparents, youth and children to "like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior" 1 Peter 1:16. Congratulations to our music students for their recent performances at the Greater Victoria Performing Arts Festival, the Whistler Music Festival, and Island Catholic Schools Music Showcase Concert. The well-traveled music program continues to thrive at St. Andrew’s as we look forward to events like the Spring Fling and Celebration of the Arts later in the semester. Thank you to Mr. O’Reilly and the Music Parents for all of their hard work. Congratulations to our Sabres senior girls’ soccer team for picking up two wins and for being fine ambassadors of St. Andrew’s while away in Coquitlam for BC Catholics. Thank you to coach Mr. John Men-nie and his team for their work with the students. We pray for a safe retreat this weekend for our grade 11 students who will be traveling to Prince George to participate in the Prince George Catholic Youth Conference. Thank you to Mr. Dan-ny Brock and his team for organizing this retreat in short order so that some of our grade 11 students could take part. Let us wish our Rowing Academy students well as they prepare for this weekend’s annual Brentwood Regatta on Friday and Saturday. Earlier this month, the rowers were gracious enough to invite me to join them for a morning practice. Thank goodness for the shining sun! Thank you for the team for being patient with the novice in their midst and thank you to coach Mrs. Amy Dearden for her steadfast work with the students.

Bottle Drive for pilgrims going to WYD! The WYD pil-grims will be holding a bottle drive. Please bring your cans and bottles (well rinsed please) to the church and drop them off at the Parish Hall. Thank you so much!
Proclaiming the Gospel at the Priory. Every first Sunday of the Month come and join the seniors at the Priory Hospital (567 Goldstream Ave) in song and Mass readings. Our Lady of the Rosary Parishioners have been active in leading hymn and scripture read-ings at the Priory for over 30 years. Come. See. Sing and help Seniors turn the pages of the song books. All ages are welcome. We begin at 2:50 pm at the main dinning room.
SUMMER CAMP! Our Lady of Rosary; Children 4-6 years old; July 4-8 and 11 –15; 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Children, 7-11 years old; July 4 –8 ; 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Our Book Sale
Cathedral Bible Camp St. Andrew’s summer camp will take place July 18 to the 22 at St. Andrew's High school. This camp runs from 9:00 to 4:00 each day with an extra hour of care before and after at no extra charge. Camp is faith based and open to children from the ages of 4 to 12. Our Lady of the Rosary Social Team will be holding a Cake Auction Sunday, May 8th “Mothers Day” following 10:30 am Mass at our Parish Hall.

Mr. Michael Tinh Tran, a seminarian for the Diocese of Victoria, presently in formation at St. Peter’s Seminary in London, Ontario, will be ordained to the Order of Deacon on Friday, July 8th, 2016 at 6:30 pm at Christ the King Parish in Courtenay. A reception in the parish hall will follow, and all are welcome to attend the Mass and celebration. Your prayers for Michael and his intentions are appreciated as he prepares to mark this important milestone in his life.

March for Life – May 12th This year’s theme is Caring Not Killing. Mass at the Cathedral or at St. Patrick’s, Oak Bay at 12 noon followed by the March at 1:45 pm from Centennial Square to the Legislature down Government Street. 2:15 pm: Rally for life outside Legislature on front lawn.
The Garden Babies for Birthright* Birthright's annual Plant Sale is almost here! This year, we're featuring plants for the foreground: dwarf and low varieties, ground covers, and rock plants. We'll also have the usual favourites, in-cluding flowering shrubs, perennials, herbs & veggie starts. Please bring your plant donations to the Large Hall on Sat-urday, May 7, from 9:30-10 AM.
