IntroductionThe 4th International Conference of The Foundation for Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (FPID) & Indian Society for Primary Immune Deficiency Diseases (ISPID) is being hosted by the Karnataka Pediatric Hematology Oncology Group in association with Mazumdar Shaw Medical Center, Narayana Health City, Bangalore at the Silicon Valley of India. Due to its rich stone resources, the city is also known as the Stone City. Located on the Deccan Plateau in the south-eastern part of Karnataka, it is India's third most populour city and fifth-most populour urban agglomeration. Indian Society for Primary Immune Deficiency Diseases (ISPID) is a registered Society and is a non profit organization. The society is an initiative of clinical immunologists, laboratory immunologists and hematopoietic stem cell transplant physicians and others with interest in primary immunodeficiency in India. Main objective of the society is to spread knowledge and latest developments in this field among clinicians especially post graduate students, immunologists and researchers.
Selected Topics• Chromosomal instability syndromes• Genetics of common variable immunodeficiency – a multi-omics approach • Severe combined immune deficiency: Changes in paradigm• Insights into Lymphocyte Regulation by Studying Combined Immunodeficiencies in Humans• CD8T regulatory cells in primary immunodeficiencies• Defective CD8 T cell activation and function underlies EBV susceptibility is distinct PIDs• New PIDs associated with EBV susceptibility• STAT2 deficiency: viruses to power?• DOC8 Deficiency• Molecular aspects of Chronic Granulomatous Disease• Molecular bases of hemophagocyticlymphohistiocytosis• Old Dogs, New Tricks: Autoinflammatory Disease Unleashed• Elucidating the genes responsible for immunological diseases leads to precision medicine treatments• New paradigms in HSCT for PID - the changing landscape• Gene Therapy for primary Immunodeficiency-Where are we now and where can we go?
From the Organizing SecretaryDear Friends, Greetings from the Organizing Committee of 4th International Conference on Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases. This is the 4th International Conference of The Foundation for Primary Immunodeficiency Diseases (FPID) & Indian Society for Primary Immune Deficiency Diseases (ISPID) being held in Bangalore. Bangalore is one of the major hubs in India for healthcare, medical tourism, pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, information technology and molecular research. Compared to the developed countries, in India this area is still infantly. Globally there are 10million patients with PID, there are more than 300 different PID’s and more then 400 gene mutations have been described. This meeting will bring together about 25-30 National and International faculty and about 300-350 delegates from all over the country and surrounding countries, in the fields of Haematology, Haemato-oncology, Laboratory medicine and Immunology. Invited speakers from around the world will present cutting edge and most recent data on the molecular bases of primary immunodeficiency diseases, next generation sequencing, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and gene therapy of primary immunodeficiency diseases. A meeting of this magnitude cannot be held without your support. In addition to a scientific feast we have also planned out a large trade exhibition area and also various sponsorship opportunities. We thus seek your support for this meeting to ensure a grand success.
Yours sincerely Dr. Sunil Bhat Organizing Secretary
