Davidson Primary Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
Dear Parents and carers, It has been a great week at Davidson Primary Academy, the children were involved in a whole school filming project. The purpose of the filming is to create a promotional video for the school which will be available to view on various social media platforms. I will update you when the video is available. The PTA opened up a pop up Mothers Day gift shop where the children were able to buy a range of items for their loved ones. The children put much thought into purchasing the gifts, thinking carefully about which item will be best suited. Enjoy Mothers Day this Sunday. The Drama Club run by Miss Mulhern came to an end this week, the children were given the opportunity to perform to parents and carers. The club has really helped the children develop their confidence, public speaking and acting skills. The children put on a great performance and very much enjoyed it. The performance was very entertaining and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done to the Miss Mulhern and the children. On Tuesday 2nd April we will be having a Fun Day to mark World Autism Day. The children are permitted to come out of school uniform and contribute in making a donation. The staff are running different activities which the children have been asked to sign up for. The PTA are also holding a sponsored bounce. All funds raised will go towards replenishing our Sensory Room with new resources. We are an inclusive school and are committed to ensuring all our children with autism are given a high quality provision - the Sensory Room will support this so please donate as generously as you can. Enjoy Mothers Day weekend. Farzana Begum

FOOTBALL MATCH
Wednesday the 27th of March was our 3rd league game of the season against 1st place Woodside Primary.
The boys were excited for the first away game of the season. The first half started off slowly, then Woodside got the first goal which followed quickly by a penalty for Davidson. Amari stepped up and took the penalty which was saved by the
Woodside goal keeper. Woodside started to dominate the first half by scoring 3 more goals quickly. As half time approached Davidson were 4-0 down and needed a big second half.
The second half started with a chance from Lukman who put the ball over the crossbar. It was a good start from Davidson. Then a
goal by Oskar made the game 4-1. Davidson were creating a lot of chances early on in the second half, but two more attempts from
Oskar hit the post on both occasions. Woodside got another goal at the end of the game with the full time score at 5-1 to Woodside
primary. They are a good team but the boys were so unlucky after getting back in the game with a fantastic second half performance. Man of the match was Oskar who had a fantastic game getting the
only goal.
Davidson primary look forward to their next game after half term.
I look into the window of my mind Reflections of the fears I know I've left behind I step out of the ordinary, I can feel my soul ascending I am on my way, can't stop me now and you can do the same What have you done today to make you feel proud? It's never too late to try What have you done today to make you feel proud? You could be so many people if you make that break for freedom What have you done today to make you feel proud? Still so many answers I don't know Realize that to question is how we grow So I step out of the ordinary, I can feel my soul ascending I am on my way, can't stop me now and you can do the same What have you done today to make you feel proud? It's never too late to try What have you done today to make you feel proud? You could be so many people if you make that break for freedom What have you done today to make you feel proud? We need a change, do it today I can feel my spirit rising We need a change, so do it today 'Cause I can see a clear horizon What have you done today to make you feel proud? So what have you done today to make you feel proud? 'Cause you could be so many people if you make that break for freedom So what have you done today to make you feel proud? What have you done today to make you feel proud? What have you done today? You could be so many people just make that break for freedom So what have you done today to make you feel proud?

SCHOOL FEEL GOOD SONG
Our school feel good song will be “Proud” by Heather Small. It would be great if all pupils could learn the lyrics so we can all sing it together!
The bottles have been
collected and the
money has been
counted. We can
reveal that we raised
a total of £175.25
from this event and that
the class that has won
the movie afternoon on
Wednesday is Cherry
Class, who collected
£44.75 in their bottle.
We would like to take
this opportunity to
thank everyone for
their support in this.
World Autism Awareness Day is on Tuesday 2 April
2019 and the school will be holding various fundraising
activities on this day. Not only will it be a non-uniform
day but we will be selling cupcakes after school as well
as holding a sponsored bounce.
By now you should all have received information relat-
ing to the sponsored bounce as well as a sponsorship
form, if you haven’t then please contact the office. In
summary, we will be asking children how many times
they can bounce on a bouncy castle within a minute.
All children will be taking part in this fun activity and
we hope that we will be able to raise lots of money
from it so please encourage friends, family and neigh-
bours to sponsor your child.
Finally, we would like to take
this opportunity to thank
Croydon Bouncy Castles
for donating a bouncy castle
for us to use for this event.
