Today’s event programmeThe programme consists of three types of events – shows, drop-insand workshops. Here’s some useful information about them:
Shows• For shows you don’t require a ticket simply arrive at the venue in good time• There will be no unnecessary queuing at the show venues. When you arrive at the
venue you will be issued with a queue number • Queue numbers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. When you get a
queue number you are guaranteed entry to the show • Once you have your queue number, you will forfeit your place if you leave the queue
Drop-ins• We have tons of fun drop-in sessions for you this year and all you need to do is
turn up at a time that suits you• There’s the indoor and outdoor Science Showfloors, plus more than 20 sessions
many of which are in our fantastic SkillZone located in Greenbank Building and Harrington Car Park
Workshops• All of our workshops have been fully pre-booked before the festival• If you have a ticket for a workshop please arrive at the venue at least 10 minutes
before the start time• Please note that we will not be running stand-by queues for workshops
Finding your way aroundThere’s a map section within this guide,plus there are lots of festival ambassadorson campus to help you. They are wearingyellow t-shirts – so you shouldn’t strugglefinding them. Room numbers for eachbuilding starting with a ‘0’ are on theground floor, ‘1’ are on the first floor, ‘2’are on the second floor and so on…
HelpdeskPop along with any questions or
issues and our staff will be able to helpyou – it’s located in the foyer of theMedia Factory (the building that lookslike it's made of green and grey Lego)
Festival shopLocated at the entrance of Sir Tom FinneySports Centre with lots of cool things forchildren to buy with their pocket money.You can also buy your very own FutureScientist t-shirt
ParkingPlease use public transport if possible. A limited amount of free parking is available on the University’s car parks.You can safely ignore any University payand display machines or permit holderonly signs. However, please keep disabled bays free for blue badge holders
Food and drinkGreat value food and drink will be
available in lots of venues across campus– see the festival map for their locations
Toilets and baby changingMale, female and disabled toilet facilitiesare located in every University building.We also have baby changing facilities in Darwin Building and Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre (lowerground floor – just past the reception desk)
Quiet roomFor groups or individuals with special requirements we have a designated quietroom away from the noise and crowds. It is located in Harrington Building roomHA129 (on the first floor)
First aidThe first aid point is located at the
Check-in Point at Venue 53. If you areunable to go to the first aid point thencontact any of our festival ambassadors(in yellow t-shirts) who will be able to dispatch a first aider to your location
Lost childrenAlert any of our festival ambassadors (inyellow t-shirts) who will be able to assistyou. Staff at any of our Check-in Pointsor Helpdesk will also be able to help you
Opening timesThefestival is open from 9.00am – 5.00pm

Festival spiritOur staff, festival ambassadors and volunteers are here to help you have agreat day – however abusive or threatening behaviour towards them will not be tolerated
