● If you want to take a long trip, need to plan out a route and schedule in charging times OR rent an ICE vehicle (internal combustion engine)

● May need to replace tires more often (because of the faster acceleration)

Federal Incentives to Purchase an EV

It’s as simple as plugging in at your place, no more stops at the gas station
Every Plug-In EV Comes with a Level 1 Charger
Level 1 Chargers
• Can be used inside or outside
• Provide ~40 miles of range from an overnight charge
• Work well for EV drivers commuting 30 miles or less each day
• Are great for Plug-In Hybrid EVs
• All you need is a regular 120V outlet in your garage or driveway
Investing in a Level 2 Charger makes Home Charging Faster and More Convenient
Level 2 Chargers
• Can be used inside or outside
• Provide 30-60 miles of range for every hour charging
• Work well for EV drivers commuting over 40 miles/day, or those needing to quickly charge up
• Are good for EVs with more battery range (100+ miles)
• Best selling chargers cost $600-$700, and offer an app for easy scheduling on your phone or tablet
Level 2 Chargers May Require Special Wiring
Level 2 Chargers
• Require a 240V circuit wired from your garage or driveway to your electric panel, usually completed by an electrician
• Wiring varies by location, but we’ve seen it cost an average of $700
• Require room in your electric panel, a 240V circuit takes 2 slots. If panel upgrades are needed, costs can increase

Time of Day – Whole home
Requirements: Single family home – We replace your current meter with a TOU meter
Value: If you can wait to run major appliances & charge your EV overnight (between 9:00pm – 9:00am) you can save.
Costs vary, but an average driver charging every night will pay about $25 - $30/month for their EV fuel
Regular Residential
If you can’t move your whole home’s major energy use to off peak time, consider scheduling your EV to charge overnight. Charging at night helps us use more renewables on our grid
