1. Walt Disney grew up on a farm. He loved to draw animals. Later, he wanted to get a job as a cartoonist for a newspaper. He was not successful. Then he got a job to make cartoons for movies. This was near new business at that time. Disney liked this idea. Hollywood was a better place for this new business.

2. Walt Disney moved to Hollywood. He started his own movie company in 1923. In 1928 he made his first movie about Mickey Mouse. It was a big success. Then he made a movie about Donald Duck. Walt Disney continued to make long cartoon movies like Snow White and the Seven Dwarf Bambi, and Sleeping Beauty. His movies company was the biggest maker of cartoons in the world. Later, he made children’s movies like Mary Poppins with real actors.

3. In 1954, Disney started to build Disneyland in California. In the first two months, over a million people came to Disneyland. It was a huge success. Disney planned to open a larger Disney park in Florida. He didn’t see it open. He died in 1966.walt Disney World opened in Florida in 1971   Today, there are Disney parks in Tokyo, Japan, and outside Paris, France. People all over the world enjoy Walt Disney’s characters and stories.

When he was 17, James Cook worked in a bank / shop. He didn’t like it. He dreamt of being a navigator, so he studied maths /cooking and astrology / astronomy.
