Nordstrom, Inc. (206-628-2111) is slated to open a 34,842 sq.ft. Nordstrom Rack location at The Palms at Town & Country, a 400,000 sq.ft. open-air mixed-use center currently under redevelopment on Mills Drive in Kendall, FL. The store, offering off-price apparel and accessories for women, men and children, will join New York & Co., Marshalls, Men’s Wearhouse, Publix and Shaq’s 24 Hour Fitness and is slated to open during the fall. The company will also open a Nordstrom location at a former Lord & Taylor site at St. Louis Galleria in St. Louis, MO during 2011. The opening was originally scheduled for 2010, but was pushed back by the company due to concerns over the slumping economy.

Amphora, LLC (847-518-9000) will combine and relocate an Amphora store and an Amphora Loft store located on North Northwest Highway in Park Ridge, IL to a new location at Shops of Uptown, located at the intersection of Northwest Highway, Prospect Avenue and Touhy Avenue in Park Ridge, during April. The home furnishings store will be four times larger than the original two locations and will offer furniture, bedding, lighting, rugs and artwork.

Target Corp. (612-304-6073) is slated to open a 156,000 sq.ft. Target location situated on five acres on Penn Avenue in East Liberty, PA during the first half of 2011. The company will also open a location at a former Lord & Taylor site at Christiana Mall, located in Newark, DE. The store will join Macy’s and JCPenney. Nordstrom is also slated to open a location at the center. The company currently operates 1,600 locations nationwide.

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (412-762-2889) is slated to open 41 PNC Bank locations inside Giant supermarkets throughout DE, MD, VA and Washington DC this year, with more planned during the next 10 years.

Luby’s, Inc. (713-329-6800) is slated to open one to two Luby’s restaurants during the 2009 fiscal year. The company currently operates 120 locations nationwide.

Happy Valley Corp. (708-383-2240) will open four Flat Top Grill locations during the first half of this year, including units in Indianapolis, IN and Milwaukee, WI. The company currently operates 13 restaurants nationwide.

Santa Fe Holding Co. (615-661-4500) is slated to open 12 Santa Fe Cattle Co. locations nationwide this year. The roadhouse-style restaurant chain, featuring steaks, ribs and fajitas, currently operates 28 locations nationwide throughout seven states. The company recently opened a 5,941 sq.ft. location in Bixby, OK and opened a total of nine locations during 2008.

Kohl’s, Inc. (262-703-7000) will open a Kohl’s location at a former Mervyns site at Bayshore Mall in Eureka, CA as part of a plan to open 50 new locations during the 2009 fiscal year. The company is also slated to open a location at Madonna Plaza, located in San Luis Obispo, CA. The company currently operates 1,000 locations throughout 48 states nationwide.

Susser Holdings Corp. (361-884-2464) will open two Stripes Convenience Stores locations in Abilene, TX: one on Dub Wright Boulevard and one on Loop 322. The company has also rebranded a Town & Country location at the intersection of Highway 277 and Rebecca Lane/Dub Wright Boulevard in Abilene as a Stripes store.
