Money raisedhelps fund the financial assistance program at the music school.Students 18 years and younger are eligible to apply; aid is givenon the basis of need. is academy is the only private musicschool in Southwest Florida that offers this kind ofassistance. You can see that this concert series not only bringsgreat classical music to Bonita Springs but also helps to developthe future of excellent music in our community.

e First Academy of Music (FAM) is a ministry of First Presbyterian Church that provideshigh quality musical instruction for students of all ages and levels of skill. Private lessons onindividual instruments are offered as well as group musical experiences for children andadults, with performance opportunities over the course of the program year. Financial assistance is available to qualifying students aged 18 years and younger enrolled in privatelessons at the school. Wagner’s Sigfried Idyll, composed as abirthday present to his second wife, was first performed by asmall ensemble on Christmas morning 1870 in Switzerland.György Ligeti’s Romanian Concerto was inspired by childhoodmemories of folk music from the Carpathian Mountains. Q: A Chamber Overture by Bruce edward Miller will also be featured.

Vaughn Williams’ Oboe Concertowill feature principal oboist Judy Christy. is piece was first per-formed by Leon Goossens, for whom it was written, in Liverpool in1944. Schubert’s Mass No. 2 in G Major was composed in less than a week and consists of six movements. Mozart’s Regina Coeli(Queen of heaven) will also be featured. enjoy a special appearanceby the Naples Philharmonic Chorus, directed by James Cochran.
