CONGRATULATIONS!
Congratulations to Abbey McGovern and Sandra Villalba, who were honored in the 2017 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. In 2017, more than 330,000 works were submitted nationwide.
Congratulations to Authentic Science Research senior Nicolette Carbonetto for being the only Toms River student selected to do an oral presentation of her research at the Junior Science & Humanities Symposium hosted by Rutgers University. The oral PPT presentation is the highest level of competition at the symposium. Additionally, ASR seniors Christine Apostolico, Darrion Carrington, Stephanie Javier, Joe Signorelli, and Matt Signorelli were chosen for the competitive poster board session at the JSHS. Good luck to our scientific mariners!
Congratulations to Josh Burns for placing 10th overall at the NJSIAA South Jersey Boy’s Bowling Tournament.
Congratulations to seniors Ryan Roger (Shot) and Bryce Watts (55 Meters) for becoming Group 4 State Champions this past weekend. Addtionally, senior Jake Hankins (Shot) finished 3rd.
Congratulations to our wrestling team for their performance this past weekend as seven wrestlers placed in the district championships advancing to the region tournament this week. Seniors Pat O’Donnell and Kevin Ryan finished 3rd. Freshman Michael Nakano and junior Juan Nakano placed 2nd. Our district champions were freshman Nick Boggiano, sophomore Nick Reilly, and Senior Mike DeGennaro.
SPRING SPORTS
The spring sports season is rapidly approaching and our teams are having organizational meetings. This is a friendly reminder to get all physical paperwork to the nurse as soon as possible. Late paperwork may not be processed in time for spring tryouts.
CLASS OF 2019 AND N’STEP CULTURAL NIGHT
I hope that you will join the Class of 2019 and N’STEP this Thursday, February 23rd from 6 – 8pm for a night filled with food, dance, and music from around the
world! There will also be a performance by our step team. The cost is $ 10. Interested students should see Ms. Swancey (F207), Mrs. Albanese (F204), or Ms. Palumbo (C-34) for tickets.
YEARBOOK ORDERING AND PERSONALIZATION
Just a reminder… the $80 preorder price for the yearbook ends on 2/28/17. This is also the final date for adding personalization to the cover of your book. The regular pricing of the yearbook is $85 and will run from 3/1 to 4/30. To order a yearbook, please go to www.jostensyearbook.com.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Dear Parents,
We are excited to inform you that Toms River Regional Schools pre-registration for kindergarten has begun. For all parents of eligible kindergarten students, turning 5 by October 1, 2017, now is the time register in order to guarantee your son’s or daughter’s placement in their home school. Please visit our website (www.trschools.com/registration/kindergarten) and pre-register for one of our upcoming registration dates. Here you will be able to able to review the registration requirements and download the documentation and forms that must be completed prior to your confirmed appointment for March 18, March 25, or April 29.

SPRING BLOOD DRIVE
Our annual Spring Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday, March 3rd. All seniors and juniors, who are 16 years of age or older are eligible to donate. Interested students can sign up in their English classes or in the Main office. Save A Life – Donate!

Don’t miss this year’s musical production of Bring It On! Performances will be Thursday, March 9th, Friday, March 10th (ASL interpreted), and Saturday, March 11th .
