Dear Parents and Students

Today marks the end of the Grade 12 Examinations, their final series of internal examinations before their IB Diploma examinations commence in May. I cannot stress strongly enough how demanding these assessments are for our students, but I do know that they are terrific preparation for the challenges that lie ahead in just 10 weeks! Please be sure to congratulate our Seniors on their efforts.

While on the topic of culminating activities and assessments, one of the highlights of the school calendar is always the annual Grade 10 MYP Personal Project (PP) Exhibition which will be held in the Han Theatre on Wednesday morning. The PP is the culminating project for the MYP (the IB Diploma has the Extended Essay and the PYP the PYP Exhibition) and Grade 10 students have been working very hard and independently over recent months to prepare for their presentation to the community. As always there will be a wide range of interesting and inspiring personal passion projects on display, and I encourage you all to come along to talk to the students and celebrate their efforts.

Grade 10 parents are encouraged to stay on after the exhibition to attend the IB Diploma Course Options Meeting scheduled for Wednesday afternoon from 2:30PM-4PM in the Han Teachers’ Center. Dr. Davies, the IB Diploma Coordinator and Secondary Deputy Principal, will provide an overview of the IB Diploma and course options to help guide students and parents in making the right course choices for their Grade 11 and 12 studies. Following Dr. Davies’ presentation, parents and students will move down to the library where Diploma subject teachers will be available to discuss their subjects and why the student might be well advised to select them, or possibly why not. An email was sent home to all G10 parents on 12 February, and an e-notification will be sent again as a reminder early next week.

A reminder to all parents that the second session of CCAs concludes today, which means no activities next week (although sports continue). Please be sure to inform your ayis and drivers to make accommodations in their schedules so that children are not left at school or do not arrive home to an empty house. CCA Session 3 commences Monday 4 March, and all parents should by now have received notification of the activities their children have been registered for.

On Monday the Office Manager, Christina Song, will send home updated Emergency Telephone Tree contact lists. If you have had a recent change of telephone number, please email Christina by Monday morning so that she can make the correction. You can contact Christina at [email protected] or you can call the school office at 2859-2001. Thank you for your support.

I wish you all a most enjoyable weekend, and some slightly warmer weather!

WHAT DO WE OFFER?

MS/HS food offer

A retail concept oriented environment as MS/HS students

are young adults who need choices, brands/concepts and

freedom in deciding the composition of their lunch.

We propose a different service concept that blends and

merges the “A la Carte “and “Set Menu” offers

into one single frame.

Students will have several stations to choose from, each

station serving daily dishes bound into a concept

(e.g. Grill, Wok, Western, and Asian, etc.). As such,

each customer can chose between paying the basic fare

for the main dish (A la Carte) or upgrading the chosen

main dish into a Set Menu or a Deal price lower than the

sum of the different components. The upgrade allows a

drink + dessert or Fruit + salad or Soup in a separate plate.

Examples:

Chicken curry + Rice

22 RMB

Upgrade 10RMB

(Drink + salad or soup + Fruit

or Dessert)

Set Menu Deal 32 RMB
