Dear Summer Fun Parents and Students, Clovis Unified School District has taken every precaution to make sure our students and employees are safe. They have also been very careful about making any decisions too quickly regarding all of our programs. This gives us hope! We want more than anything to provide a fun summer for the kids in our community! It’s our mission! With that in mind, our ad-ministration has planned to have a shortened version of Summer Fun from July 1st to July 16th. We are living in ever changing times and so it is possible that Summer Fun will be cancelled altogether. But we have hope that we can at least have a shortened version of Summer Fun. We thank you so much for all of your pa-tience and understanding. Here is a timeline of events:

will communicate on our website the final decision.

PRE-KINDERGARTEN FUN Ages 4-6

This course is designed to prepare your youngster for kindergarten. Your child will be introduced to kindergarten activities such as art, music and movement, math and sci-ence, literacy development, games, and social interaction with other children. In addi-tion to the basic curriculum, we will explore the beach, camping, dinosaurs, and much more! Children attending MUST be potty trained and at least 4 years of age before the program begins. Summer Fun Scholars

BASIC ALGEBRA Ages 10-12

Students must at least be going into 5th grade to attend this class. For this class, stu-dents must know their multiplication, division, addition and subtraction and have passed math facts. No matter how you say it, there is nothing that replaces the written word. This class will help in all your academic endeavors and allow you to develop your creativity in a fun and exciting way. Through fun and creative means including literature, pictures and class activities, we’ll discover how putting pen to paper is a valuable tool in helping us express ourselves. Various forms of poetry, stories, letters, and journaling will be explored. BABYSITTING WORKSHOP Ages 10+

You can be a sought-after babysitter! Class will help a new sitter get started and to make an average sitter above average. Topics covered will be: how to get babysitting jobs, character-istics and the needs of children at various ages, safety and first aid, ideas to keep children occupied, effective discipline techniques, easy snacks, and more! TERMS AND CONDITIONS of Summer Fun Summer Fun Safety Your child’s safety is our number one priority. Every Summer Fun employee is part of the Clovis Unified School District and has fingerprint clearance. As long as your child is enrolled in back to back classes your child will be supervised during the time of Summer Fun. Please make sure there are no gaps in your child’s schedule. No child is allowed to ‘hang out’ unsupervised in between classes. We have classroom aides that help the students get from class to class. Drop Off and Pick-Up You must drop off your child at the classroom door of his or her first class and pick-up your child at the classroom door of his or her last class. FOR YOUR CHILD’S SAFETY there are no parking lot drop offs. There is no supervision once your child leaves his or her last class. Please make necessary arrangements to follow our pick-up/drop off policies. Snacks and Breaks Teachers have allowed time in their lessons for snacks and breaks. Your child can bring a snack/lunch to Summer Fun. Allergies/Medical If your child has allergies please inform all of his/her teachers and the Summer Fun office. In case of illness or other emergency, when parent/guardian is unavailable, by agreeing to the terms and conditions of Summer Fun the parent/guardian hereby authorizes a representative of the school to make such arrangements as he/she deems necessary for the child to receive medical or hospital care, including transportation. Under such circumstances parent/guardian further authorizes a physician to undertake such care and treatment of the child as needed. If your child has a food allergy we strongly recommend that he/she does not take cooking classes. Refunds and Transfers We have a NO REFUND policy and a NO TRANSFER policy. Please choose your classes carefully. If a class is cancelled by Summer Fun a full refund for the entire class fee will be processed. If there are unforeseen circumstances and a transfer is necessary, upon approval from the director a transfer fee of $25 per class will be required. Tax Information Tax Id # 94-2840774. Your paid invoice will act as a record for tax purposes. Amounts reported for childcare for year-end tax purposes are the responsibility of the individual. Late Pick- Ups Children picked up late will be charged $1.00 for every minute after his or her last class. Excessive late pick-ups could result in your child being removed from the program with a pro-rated refund. Payment We accept MasterCard/Visa, Cash, and Checks payable to Clovis Unified School District with Summer Fun in the memo line. There is a $25 processing fee for all returned checks. Summer Fun Photos By agreeing to the terms and conditions of Summer Fun the parent/guardian gives permission for the child to be photographed during the course of Summer Fun. These photos may be used in future promotional materials for the Summer Fun program.
