WKAR Family Brings Playtime Pads To Lansing KindergartnersIn November, kindergarten students at Kendon Elementary were the first to receive PBS KIDS Playtime Pads as part of a research and outreach project headed up by WKAR Family and the MSU College of Communication Arts and Sciences.

"This project brings quality PBS KIDS educational games and programming to Lansing kindergartners, through new technology that children love," said Susi Elkins, WKAR general manager.

By the end of the year, all kindergartners in the Lansing School District will receive the tablets for use in class for math-based games and exploration. Researchers at MSU will study how the tablets are used and effects on learning.
