Advent Reflections of a Country Priest This weekend, throughout our country, special focus is placed upon our retired reli-gious. Did you know that in the United States today, there are more than 33,000 senior
Catholic sisters, brothers, and religious order priests? These religious worked tirelessly in Catholic schools, hospitals, and agencies, usually for little to no pay. As a result, many reli-
gious communities lack adequate savings for retirement and eldercare. Your gift to today’s collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious helps provide medications, nursing care, and
more. Our two parishes have been blessed in the past to be ministered to by the Redemp-torists, Precious Blood, Tiffin Franciscans, and Sisters of Notre Dame, just to name a
few. Hopefully you found an envelope for your offering in your box, otherwise there are some available in Church. Please be generous. Today, Sunday December 13, is the Deanery Penance Service that will be held at 3:00
p.m. at St. Mary's in Norwalk. I hope you can attend this or the many other opportunities we will be offering to receive Jesus' abundant mercy and forgiveness.
Don't forget next Sunday is the open house at the rectory in Monroeville from 2:00p.m.until 4:00 p.m. Please join me and my family for some food and fellowship. Come
and go as you please. Finally, if you have Christmas cards for Fr. Lill or our adopted seminarian, Zachary
Brown, please feel free to place them in the offertory or drop them off at the office and we
will make sure they receive your greetings! Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr. Ron
