PRAYERS NEEDED: Please keep Richard Corralez’s family in your prayers. Richard’s (4th) great-grandmother, Clara Jeung, passed away. May God guide and be with them during this difficult time. TEACHING TOUCHING SAFETY PROGRAM: St. Thomas More School will present a sexual abuse prevention pro- gram, the Touching Safety program, to our students from November 30th—December 4th. This program is pro- vided to us by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and is a part of our ongoing effort to help create and maintain a safe environment for children and to protect all children from sexual abuse. The topic for this year’s Teaching Touching Safety lesson is Boundaries/Bullying and Telling Someone you Trust. The scheduled lessons are being offered to all students at St. Thomas More School. If you have questions about the program or the lesson, please contact Mrs. Rodriguez at 626-284-5778. STM PARISH CHRISTMAS BOUTIQUE AND RAFFLE TICKETS: The STM Parish’s annual Christmas Boutique will take place on Sunday, December 6th. Please see the flyer attached for further information. Also, the parish is in need of volunteers to sell raffle tickets after each Mass on 11/22 and 11/29. If you are in need of service hours and are interested in volunteering, please contact Tess at the STM rectory @626-284-3303. CONCERN AMERICA: On Sunday, December 6th, St. Thomas More School will participate in the Christmas Bou- tique with unique, quality handcrafts that provide us with the opportunity to purchase conscientiously. The gifts we find for special events, holidays, or to brighten our own homes are an exchange of caring with impoverished communities in developing countries. These items are provided by Concern America. The new craft items from Bangladesh, El Salvador and Guatemala are especially delightful. Inspired by nature, these beautifully crafted textiles, ceramics and wood products, honor indigenous traditions, and were selected to be reminders that when a Concern America product is purchased, we are providing a source of income to materially poor communities; promoting human scale endeavors; eco-friendly work patterns; and fair working conditions. See enclosed flyer for more information. STM TOY DRIVE: STM will be collecting toys to distribute for Hillsides Home for Children. Toys will be collected through December 17th. Please check flyer for what age group your grade should buy for. If boys bring a gift for a boy and girls bring a gift for a girl, we will be able to donate a nice variety. SAVE THE DATE: MARDI GRAS Social on February 6th. Ticket sales will go toward Mandatory Fundraising. Every family is required to purchase two tickets. Each class will be responsible for One Silent Auction item. If anyone has any ideas, please email your room parent or come see Mrs. Rodriguez. Excellence in Education Lord, you are the Light of all Nations. You are our hope and our peace. As we wait for the bright promise of Christmas, may we remember all the great promises that You have made to Your chosen people. You have fed us and clothed us in Your Light, and You have taught us to expect the miracle of Your love to fill the universe. May we never forget Your promises and may we always trust in You. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen. www.stthomasmorealhambra.org St. Thomas More Parish School December 2, 2015 Weekly Newsletter CONGRATULATIONS NOVEMBER STUDENTS OF THE MONTH!
