The Main Library has relocated its book drop from Main Street to Civic

Circle. Have you noticed? The new home of the book drop is

located on the left side of the library, right after the grotto and before the

parking spaces begin. This new and improved drop has a place for books

AND now offers a slot for CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks. Make sure to

check it out next time you are returning your books to the library!

On Wednesday, December 28 from 4-5:30 at the St. Peter Library

we invite all teens, ages 12-17, to come out and participate in The

Michael Jackson Experience on Wii. This is the time to bust a move and see how high the score will go. Not everyone attending

will have a Wii remote but everyone will dance! Invite your friends

and make sure to attend this fun-filled, nonstop event! Call the

It was the dawn of the age of flight in 1911 when aviator

Robert G. Fowler brought his first airplane to New Iberia. It all started with a competition to be the first person to fly across the

United States using an airplane built by the Wright Brothers themselves. Hear this fascinating and historical tale from researcher

Dave Hostetter. This program is appropriate for ages 10 & up. It

will be on Wednesday, December 21 starting at 7:00 p.m. at the

Christmas. The North Pole elves have notified the Iberia Parish

Library that Santa will be stopping by to visit the children

on Monday, December 12 at

The Night Before Christmas by

Clement Moore will be read to the children and then they will

have a chance to meet and greet with Santa.

Santa will also be stopping by

the Main Library again on

10:00 a.m. to spread his

Christmas cheer during preschool story time. Here, the children will listen to stories,

sing songs, watch a movie and get a chance to visit Santa.

Calling all adults over the age of 55 who want to further their education! The

University College of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette will be offering 14 week

courses in partnership with the Iberia Parish Library!

Registration for the classes begin on December 15, 2011.

Life Writing-Instructor Kim Graham-Cost for Semester $125

Learn how to capture memories, remember old friends or preserve your unique family

history through writing. Iberia Parish Library has been hosting the Life Writing

Classes since 2005 and is excited to continue this wonderful program as well as work with Kim Graham and UL. Classes will be held Wednesdays and begin on

January 25. Choose the class time that fits your schedule best and register at the Main

Library. Payment is required upon registering.

Add a Splash of Color-Instructor Kate Ferry-Cost for Semester $80

Are you a seasoned artist or someone who is looking into beginning painting? This

class will allow participants to explore creating art with watercolors and different techniques that can be used with this versatile medium. Artist Kate Ferry will take you

on a colorful journey that is recommended for beginning and intermediate artists.

Class begins Tuesday, January 24 and will be held from 10:00 a.m. –12:00 p.m. at the

St. Peter Library. Register at the Main Library. Payment is required upon registering.

Wonderful Acrylics-Instructor Kate Ferry-Cost for Semester $80

Experienced or intermediate artists looking for new material are invited to participate

in an advanced art class with artist Kate Ferry. In this class you will learn the basics of

acrylic paint, see demonstrations on different painting techniques, and work on a variety of projects. This class is not for beginners. Class begins Thursday, January 26

and will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the St. Peter Library. Register at the Main

Library. Payment is required upon registering.
