Hello Everyone!
It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Sherbourne Place is gearing up for the holiday season and we invite families and friends to join us at our annual holiday celebrations. We’ll be celebrating on the
following dates this year: Tuesday December 17th – 2nd floor
Wednesday December 18th – 3rd floor Thursday December 19th – 4th floor
From 6:30pm-8:00pm.

Holiday Fair in the Square

Toronto Christmas Market

Toronto Aurora Winter Festival

On December 31, 2019 Toronto will be
celebrating its annual New Year Eve’s
celebration featuring DJ skating parties, live

Do your loved one require 1:1 visits with a volunteer?
Volunteers at Sherbourne Place can spend time with your loved one while engaging in various
leisure activities such as outdoor strolls at Allan Gardens, a visit to St. Lukes a trip to the library or
coffee shop, reading and reminiscing.
If you would like to sign your loved one up for 1:1 volunteer visits please contact the Life Enrichment
Staff on your floor.

According to the Resident’s Bill of Right, every
resident has the right to live in a safe and clean
environment.
In other words...
The long-term care home must be safe and
everything should work properly. Smoke alarms
must work, fire exits must be clearly marked, and
stairways must be clear.
The building must be clean. Garbage should be
taken out regularly. There should be no bad smells
and the building must have a good air supply.
According to the Resident’s Bill of Right, every
resident has the right to exercise the rights of a
citizen.
In other words...
You keep your rights as a citizen which
includes:
- your democratic rights, including the right
to vote
- your equality rights, including the right to
be protected against discrimination
- the right to practise your religion
- the right to express yourself
-the right to meet with anyone you wish, or
to join any organization or group, and
- the right not to have your possessions
looked through or taken without your
permission, except as allowed by law.
