Principal’s MessageDear BridgePrep Family,. Our Fall into a Book initiative was steller!! We could not be more proud of the students who participated and worked hard on their projects. Thank you to the families that contributed to this school wide initiative! Please be on the lookout for more wonderful academic opportunities for our steller students! Additionally we have our family events coming up. The Singing & Santa Christmas Concert will be taking place Thursday, December 14th. This Holiday program offers music, food and a special visit from Santa. We will also be addressing the importance of a safe caring learning environment with strategies that make BridgePrep Tampa a school for everyone! While on Winter break and enjoying the joyful season, let’s not neglect all the hard work our students have put into their education. We want our students to continue to advance in their studies, even when on break. Just 20 minutes of reading a day in any subject and a couple of minutes reviewing math problems is all it will take to maintain their growth. Please look for any packets that may have been provided by your teachers. There are multiple computer programs that can aid in your child’s learning progressions, and maybe even make this time enjoyable. Some of these programs include, IStation, Myon, Khan Academy, Achieve 3000, TenMarks, and Cool math. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable Holiday Season. 1st Grade Fall into a Book Projects

Welcome to First Grade

Hey my joyous 1st Grade Parents! I hope that your Thanksgiving was delicious and filling. Our 1st Grade Field Trip to the Florida Aquarium will be on Wed. Dec. 6th. Please turn in your completed packet, $15, and have a packed lunch for the field trip since we won't be having a school lunch. Thank you to the chaperones who have already signed up. We can't wait to have an awesome learning adventure at the Aquarium with everyone. Our classrooms are turning out festive as we decorate in art and on our Fun Friday's. Thank you for thinking of us during your holiday breaks. Please have an amazing holiday with family and friends while staying safe and sound..

Welcome to Second Grade

Second grade has been working hard adding up to four two-digit numbers (ex: 28+13+51+44) and subtracting two two-digit numbers (ex: 71-25). In science, we have been exploring matter! We sorted objects based on their properties of matter. We explored volume. We tried dissolving things, cutting things, and breaking things apart.

Welcome to Middle School

Hello, Bridgeprep community!!

In the middle school social studies classroom, our world history students learned about the Paleolithic Age, the Neolithic Revolution and the rise civilization. They also learned the way historians use different tools to investigate the past, and as students of this discipline, how we can research and investigate history from valid sources. At the same time, we reflected on the way social sciences and other academic discipline integrate with the study of the past. Furthermore, because of Hurricane Irma, we learned about the hurricane season and related this information with geographical concepts studied in class. Middle school midterms are swiftly approaching. Midterms will occur over the week of December 12-15th. Your BPA middle school team is continuing to work hard to prepare and educate your students in all subjects. Students in sixth grade have been working on their Super hero Agent of Erosion which was due November 29th. My kiddos in sixth and eighth grade are learning about various career opportunities in their Lead day class and are diligently exploring and creating presentations about their career choice. I look forward to seeing the presentations December 1st!

Welcome to 4th grade

Greetings parents,

In 4th grade we are preparing our students for the FSA. Across the curriculum we have been working very hard at five paragraph essay writing. Students had the opportunity to examine the giraffe species populations in Africa and will soon be submersed in the history of Florida. They will develop their viewpoints as to the European influence upon the natives based on text evidence. Students will also be examining the various concepts of motion (in science) and apply this in our 5 paragraph essay writing. We look forward to sharing all of our hard work with you!

Welcome to Third Grade

During the month of December, 3rd grade ELA students will participate in a presidential novel study. They will become an “expert” in their assigned president. While reading about President Kennedy, President Obama, or President Lincoln, students will complete a book report in which they'll analyze their historical figure’s; childhood, some conflicts these presidents experienced during their lifetime (Cause and Effect), the main idea of chapters read, and places their presidents lived and visited (setting). Students will make text-to-self connections in an effort to empower their personal aspirations. Our kiddos will learn how Americans from various backgrounds grew up to be President of the United States.

3rd Grade Learning about X-ray’s during the Great American Teach

Welcome to Fifth Grade

There is lots of excitement in 5th grade at BridgePrep Academy of Tampa! Currently, we are learning about balancing checking books, depositing money, and choosing careers in preparation for our trip to JA Biztown December 19th. Five of our students, Gia, Julian B., Ashalon, Elijah, and Tom are preparing to compete in the district level math bowl for Hillsborough County Schools. This past week, we presented our fall into a book projects and the student’s creativity, hard work, and passion for learning was apparent in all student projects. Lastly, we are finishing our science fair projects and we will be sharing them with our classmates in December. We will be choosing one student from each homeroom to represent our school in the Hillsborough County STEM fair.

Welcome to Music

Hello BridgePrep Families,In music, we have been working on learning about guitar and creative music. In December, we will be preparing for the winter concert while learning to create and compose music using the educational components that we have learned about so far. Many students will present their own compositions during a later spring time performance. Our students are working hard on their class piece to be performed in our multi culture structured winter concert on December 14th. We look forward to seeing you there!
