Fortunately,thismaterialhasnoactivitysofarwhichshouldbodewellforarchiving.Beingnotfamiliarwitharchiving,mycolleaguepointedoutacoupleofprogramsthatcanaccomplishthetaskwithoutgoingthroughthepainofarchiving,etc

Executetheprogramandyoullfindtheselectionscreenbelow.

Inthefirstgroup,youcanenterarangeofmaterials.LeavethecheckboxlabeledConsidermatlsw/odel.flaguncheckedifthematerialsyouaredeletingalreadyhavethedeletionflagset.Inthesecondgroup,youcansettheindicatortoremovethedeletionflagonmaterialsthatcannotbe

Expandtheselectiontreeandselecttheobjectsthatshouldbedeleted.Intheexample,therewasonlyoneobject.Itisconceivablethatonecouldhaveexecutedthepreviousprogramseveraltimesandgeneratedseveralobjects.Inthiscase,therewouldbemorethanoneentryinthepopup.Clickonthegreenchecktocontinue.

Ineithertestorcommitmode,thereisalongoutputwithseveralsectionssimilartothefirststepabove:tablestatistics,entriesread/deleted,andobjectstatistics.

Reviewthisoutputtomakesurethatthenumberslooklikewhatyoudexpecttohavebeendeleted.Inthisexample,onlyonematerialwasdeleted.Obviously,youcouldalsousestandardtransactionstocheckthatthematerialisnolongeravailable.
