ABSTRACT The purpose of this report is to present results connected to the creation of visual identity of TODO project. Visual identity is supple-mented with user manual to support partners in applying the visual identity through-out their dissemination acti-vities.

1. Introduction

This document presents the deliverable “D5.2 – Visual Identity and Associated User Manual” of the project TODO - Twinning Open Data Operational (hereinafter also referred to as “TODO”).

The project "Twinning Open Data Operational" (TODO) aims to leverage the interdisciplinary scientific excellence and innovation capacity of the University of Zagreb (UNIZG) in the field of open data to boost the supply and use of open government data in Croatia and beyond. Open data initiatives have resulted in greater availability of data, thereby realising ambitions such as improved efficiency and effectiveness of public services, increased transparency, accountability and citizen participation, and economic and social value creation. Open data research is a crucial component in creating and accelerating sustainable and innovative open data ecosystems. However, open data and open data research in Croatia are still in its infancy. With the support of key organizations in the Croatian open data ecosystem and esteemed national and international experts, TODO will enhance the research capacity and research excellence in open data research of UNIZG and its staff through the partnership with two leading universities in the open data domain, University of the Aegean (UAEGEAN) and Delft University of Technology (TUDELFT). TODO will develop and implement an interdisciplinary multi-domain open data research approach to increase the maturity of the concept and impact of the open data ecosystem in Croatia and beyond. The activities directed at training, knowledge exchange, collaboration, outreach and long-term sustainability should establish an internationally leading open data research ecosystem at the UNIZG. Through research, TODO will explore the gaps between supply and demand for open data and build an understanding of an open data ecosystem in Croatia. Participation in existing international networks, together with the newly built scientific excellence and innovation capacity and increased mobility of UNIZG staff, will stimulate success in attracting research and education funding and the establishment of a sustainable academic open data research ecosystem in the University of Zagreb.

The purpose of this report is to present results connected to deliverable D5.2. A visual identity is created that will contribute to the overall perception of the project.


2. Description of Activities For TODO project there are prepared following elements of visual identity: Logo and colours - Project logo is the title of the project surrounded by a semi-circular arrow divided into seven colours. This seven colours used in the logo are the primary colours of the project and are used in all other elements of visual identity.

Templates - There are three templates prepared:

1. Presentation template 2. Deliverable report template 3. Request for publishing template

Photos/graphics - Two secondary photos are prepared and used when defining the visual identity of the project. All team members can use these photos in their dissemination activities.


Project poster - Project poster present element of the visual identity of the project where the logo, primary colours, secondary graphics and logo of the project partner are included.


Project flyer - Project flyer present element of visual identity of the project where logo, primary colours, secondary graphics and logo of the project partner are included. Flyer consists of two pages and presents also information about name, duration, budget, aim, project coordinator and project primary contacts. The flyer is prepared in digital form (.pdf format).

Project brochure - Project brochure present element of visual identity of the project. It consists of twelve pages and brings information about the project, project partners, project objectives, work packages and project contacts. The brochure is prepared in digital form (.pdf format).

Electronic project newsletter – Project newsletter is planned to be published twice per year. Team members are invited to use Request for publishing template in order to prepare information for production in the project newsletter. Visual identity user manual – User manual is created to inform all team members about the prepared element of project visual identity and to invite them to apply the visual identity thought dissemination activities.

1. Introduction

This user manual is prepared to support TODO partners and TODO team members in applying project visual identity thought their dissemination activities.

Templates, documents, images and manual are available at TODO project management platform (Moodle) at http://science.geof.unizg.hr/todo/ for all project members under course COMMONS (login required). Logos are also available at main project web site http://todo-project.eu for public use.

3. Elements of visual identity 3.1. Logo and colours

Project logo is the title of the project surrounded by a semi-circular arrow divided into seven colours.


This seven colours used in the logo are primary colours of the project and are used in all other elements of visual identity.





3.2. Templates There are three templates prepared:

1. Presentation template 2. Deliverable report template 3. Request for publishing template

3.2.1. Presentation template

All project partners and team members are invited to use a presentation template when presenting activities or deliverables of the project. Presentation template encompasses sixteen slides where examples of the title slide, agenda, timeframe, content and chart sample are prepared. In addition, two slides with fully editable icons, slide with icons for social media and slide with logos of partners are included so project member can use it for further edition.

All included graphics, text and icons are edited so they follow the seven primary colours of the project. Presentation template has defined five master slides (defined slides layout):

Presentation is prepared in .pptx and .odp format.


3.2.2. Deliverable report template In order to help task or work package leaders to prepare a report for specific task or activity Deliverable report template is prepared. The cover page should encompass Document title (e.g. Delivery report), Document subtitle (e.g. Title of a work package or task), Abstract (e.g. Description of document content in max 2 sentences) and Author (e.g. Name of institution or work package /task leader). The second page is prepared to put information about the delivery/task or work package. All information can be edited in order to delete or input some information. 3.2.3. Request for publishing template In order to ensure the quality and timely distribution of TODO project information as well as to ensure the control of dissemination, a procedure that will regulate the publication of project information is prepared. A member of the project team may request the publication of a specific news item by filling out a Request for publication form.
