With concern to planning, I have put the feedback from the diagnostic lesson and LSA 1 into high consideration and worked on my weaknesses greatly. My planning included better drilling techniques and I also planned a variety of engaging group work and pair work tasks which proved to be effective when devised, and resulted in outcomes that were directly evident in a lively classroom. The rapport in the classroom was very constructive, resulting in a highly engaging and motivating lesson. The staging of the lesson was clear and logical, and the pace allowed students with enough time to focus on each task. The rapport in the class was the reason for high student involvement, where praise was an important contributing factor. Since this was a pronunciation class, the modeling and drilling of the words presented was up to the expected standards and the language analysis served that part well. Planning and Outcomes

This LSA’s pronunciation aims were evident through the desired outcome in devising a variety of tasks, and feedback techniques that ensured an engaging lesson.

Strengths and Weaknesses

In this LSA, I tried to work on the weaknesses that I demonstrated in the diagnostic lesson. Students were impressed with the presented tongue twister, which created a fun atmosphere in the class, and an appreciated component by the students to overcome their issue with pronunciation. One thing that my tutor recommended me to work on further is delayed feedback, which is advised to follow any production stage, and in this lesson, in the freer practice where students need further constructive feedback on their pronunciation. Unfortunately, that was difficult to apply due to time constraints and overlap in time between tasks. This brings up another essential point that I need to work on further, which is time management and how to allocate enough time for feedback on every task.

Consolidation and Follow-up

I need to consider feedback setting in more depth for my next LSA and read more on the providing constructive feedback and the importance of delayed feedback for students. In observing other teachers in my group, I have seen the drilling and feedback techniques that they use and would like to adopt some of them into my teaching practice.
