Objectives: TowelcometheAlumniofDepartmentofChemistry,andtomakethemawareaboutvariouscurrentextra-curricularactivitiesalongwithco-curricularactivitiesgoingon in thedepartment.TomakethemfeellikeanintegralpartofChemistrydepartmentfamilyandto seek suggestions from them in different aspects for thebettermentofthedepartment.

MinutesoftheProgram

1. The Program started at sharp 10.30 am after breakfast at the Department ofChemistry,withtheanchorMr.BhavinR.Patel.

2. AlltheAlumniandstaffwereaskedtoriseattheirrespectiveplacesforUTUAnthemat10.35am.

3. AftertheUTUAnthem,GanpatiVandanawasperformedbyDr.SatyanarayanBattula,facultyofDepartmentofChemistry.

4. WelcomeDancewasperformedbyMs.KananBhatt(MScSem3,OrganicChemistry).5. Welcome Speech was delivered by Dr Paresh N. Patel, I/C Director Department of

Chemistry.Hisspeechwasmainlyfocussedonthevariouscurrentextra-curricularandco-curricularactivitiesgoingon in thedepartment.Hehadcited that theAlumniarethebridgebetweentheuniversityandthesociety.So,heencouragedalltheAlumnitodotheneedfulwheneverandwherevernecessary.

6. Dr.SatyanarayanBattulathengaveusaspeechonopportunitiesaftercompletingthedegree of M. Sc. The alumni were made aware that the department is conductingNET/GATE/SET coaching classes on every working Saturdays. All the interestedalumniwereencouragedtoparticipateinthecoachingclasses.

7. Dr.NileshS.Pandya,thengaveaspeechontheT&Pcellactivities.Heremindedthat,theAlumniarean integralpartof thedepartment, soall kindof guidance related toplacementwillalwaysbeprovidedtothealumnimembersbythedepartment.

8. Dr. Sachin Modha, highlighted on the fact that there are several opportunities andprocesses togoabroad forhigherstudiesaftercompletingmasters/bachelordegree.He has given a presentation on the application procedure for various EuropeanFellowship Schemes e.g. DAAD Fellowship, Humboldt Fellowship etc. and Dr.HarishchandraJirimaligaveaspeechontheapplicationprocessforvariousFellowshipSchemesforSouthKorea,Japan,Taiwanetc.

9. Several Alumni students have shared their past and present experiences. EveryoneappreciatedtheideaofconductingAlumnimeetatthedepartment.

10. Ms.BhoomiandMr.DarshanhighlightedthatmorepracticalsessionsonHPLCandGCwillbebeneficialforthestudentsgoingintoindustry.

11. Mr.Pratiksuggestedthat,thedepartmentalsyllabusshouldbeupgradedtohavebetterideaaboutresearch.

12. Mr. Rahul appreciated the “Industrial Visit” events, which necessarily helps thestudentstotakedecisionsabouttheirfuture.

13. Mr. Harshil also appreciated the Dissertation and Project work that is going in thedepartment as a part of the curriculum. He suggested that, the dissertation work

shouldbegivenmorestressinordertopreparethestudentsforfurtherhigherstudiesinresearchaswellasindustry.
