Department of Education in Languages, NCERT invites applications to recruit Assistant Professor of Sanskrit purely on contractua l basis initia lly for a period of one year or till the regular incumbent joins, whichever is earlier, to work on various projects related ~

to Department of Education in Languages.

Require ment for the Post :-

I. Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 553 marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed at the Master's Degree level from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited Indian/foreign university.

II. Besides fulfilling the basic qualifications, the candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

Ill. Notwithstanding anything conta ined in sub-clauses (i) and (ii ) to this Cla use, candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D Degree in accordance with the U.G.C (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET /SLET /SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor of equivalent position in Universities/ Colleges/Institutions.

General Conditions:

1. Candidates who fulfill the above elig ibility conditions may submit the ir application in the prescribed format (Annexure-1} through post to Head, Department of Education in Languages (DEL}, 2"d Floor, Janaki Ammal Khand, Sri Aurobindo Marg, New Delhi - 110016. The applications must reach DEL on or before 171h August, 2018. Please attach self attested copies of testimonials giving deta ils o f academic q ualific a tions, caste & experience etc. w ith the application. The unsigned applica tions and the applica tions not submitted in the prescribed format will be summarily rejected.

2. Application forms wil l be scrutinized by the Department and eligible shortlisted candida tes will be called for interview. The date & time of interview will be informed to all eligible shortlisted candidates through email and telephone as well as displayed on notice board of the department. It is the sole responsibility of candida tes to confirm their na mes in list of candidates short listed for interview scheduled at NCERT.

3. Merely fulfilling the minimum elig ibili ty conditions does no t constitute a cla im for selection. Notwithstanding the qualifications cited above, the selection will be made on the basis of the merit adjudged by the Selection Committee during the interview proceedings.

4. NCERT reserves the right to cancel/postpone the recruitment process at its d iscretion.

5. The department sha ll verify the a ntecedents/documents submitted by the candidate at the time of interview or during the tenure of the service. In case, it is detected that the documents submitted by the candida tes are fake or the candidate has undesira ble clandestine/antecedents and has suppressed the said information, then his/her service shall be terminated.

6. The post is purely on contractual basis. The appointment shall initially be for a period of one year or till the regular incumbent joins whichever is earlier. No claim for regular appointment or further extension of contract is acceptable. The further extension of contract is based on requirement and at sole d iscretion of NCERT.

7. No TA/ DA will be paid for attending the interview under any circumstances.

8. Candidates invited for interview are required to bring all original documents on the day of interview for verification.

9. During the tenure, the Asstt . Prof. (Sanskrit) shall not accept or hold any o f appointment or otherwise or receive any employment/sa lary /Stipend etc from any other source.

10. The selected candidate may be required to join immediately. Candidates already in job should submit 'No Objection Certificate' from their employer along with their a pplication.
