Application Requirements
U1, U2 or U3 3.0 CGPA
Minimum requirement to be eligible for an exchange program
2.7 to 3.0 CGPA application may be considered on case by case basis extenuating circumstances only in consultation with exchange partners No guarantee of a nomination nor acceptance
A higher CGPA may be required to be a competitive applicant for the more popular exchange destinations
You must be registered full-time at the time of application
Application Process On-Line application goes live on November 6, 2015
How to apply in Minerva
Deadline to submit on-line exchange application is: January 15, 2016- Statement of Purpose - List of courses (list is tentative)
Application non-refundable fee of $150. This charge must be paid before next year registration begins to avoid registration holds.
Submit supporting documents to the SESA Office by February 1, 2016
School Selection
Demand is high and spaces are limited (4 to 8 spots/ partner school/ year)
Application permits 4 choices Must be in order of preference You must be willing to go to any of the choices
submitted in the application Students who are not nominated to any of
their 4 choices will be given alternative options
Research, Research, Research It is your responsibility to research key information
about your host school: Country, City, School Course offerings in your specialization and/or electives Add/Drop deadlines Start/End term dates OSD support Campus & residence location Language of Study Proximity to Temple, Chapel, Synagogue Dietary restrictions

Nomination Process
Direct Bilateral Schools(Management): Decisions are based on:
Available spaces CGPA Program requirements Statement of Purpose
You will hear about your nomination about one month after the application deadline

Bilateral Schools (General): Nominations are based on a Lottery System:
Decisions are made by the central Exchange Office in Enrolment Services
You are in competition with students from other faculties
You will hear about your nomination four to six weeks after application deadline

If you apply for both University Wide and Management Faculty schools, we will tend to give you Management Faculty Schools.
If you do not get any of your 4 choices: Any exchange is an enriching experience Direct Bilateral Schools:
We will contact you to ask you: If you want to apply to the Bilateral Schools still available If you want to go the lottery to apply for General Partners
Bilateral (University-wide) Schools: You will be given other General School options If you select this option and you don’t like the choices
given to you, it may be too late to apply to our Direct Bilateral Schools
After you have been nominated
No changes can be made to the school to which you have been nominated

Exchange Course Approval Process
Step 1 Visit the McGill Course Equivalency System to:
View current and past equivalency decisions To submit new requests
Step 2 Fill out the Transfer Credit Assessment Form in Minerva with the
courses approved in the database and notify the BCom Office [email protected]
Step 3 BCom Exchange Adviser will approve the course selection. The
course approval process will then be complete

If you wish to add new courses, steps 1 to 3 must be followed every time
Courses approved as equivalent in the database may not be worth 3 McGill credits
It is important to have declared the appropriate specialization(s).
Transfer Credit Policy
A maximum number of credits from outside McGill may be granted (Exchange, Study Away, IUTs):
12 McGill credits for your major 6 McGill credits for your concentration or minor
Exception: IB Concentration
9 McGill credits for management core No limit for elective credits 6 McGill credits of topics courses towards any
specialization (includes courses taken at McGill and other institutions)
Transfer Credit Policy
Maximum 15 credits per term can be transferred back to McGill
Number of host institution’s courses required for 15 McGill credits: Different for each school Depends on their full-time load for the term
Overload not permitted.
Important:
Cannot select Exchange courses as pass/fail Ensure you meet your course pre-requisites CPA program: verify course requirements
with the specific order Minor courses should be approved by McGill
