Design  Innovation  Centre  IITB  Exhibition  at  Nehru  Science  CentreWorli  Mumbai,  27th-­‐29th  March  2015  

Design Innovation Centre IITB participated in the three day Innovation Festival 2015 from 27th to 29th March 2015 at Nehru Science Centre, an establishment of National Council of Science Museums. The festival was organised to create awareness about science and technology in the context of promoting a culture of innovation. It provided a platform for innovators to showcase their innovation, talent and creativity to a large audience. The participants belonged to the fields of Science and Technology. It was inagurated by renowned nuclear scientist Dr. Anil Kakodkar, former Chairman of Atomic Energy Commission. The event also featured lectures, activities, workshops, demonstrations, challenge yourself corner, idea box, etc., over the period of three days.

Prof. Chakravarthy with his experience in design and innovation at Shenoy Innovation Studio has consolidated the 7 Concerns of Innovation. The seven concerns are – (i) Cause (ii) Context (iii) Comprehension (iv) Check (v) Conception (vi) Crafting (vii) Connection. This panel on 7C’s of Innovation showed the stepwise design solution methodology of the Letter Box and Seat for Police Stick. Among other notable exhibits were the projects for India Post namely the Letter Box, Postman Bag and Hand Stamp Tool, the Palkhi redesign as a part of Ajanta Project (funded by MHRD). This project is in its final stage and will be soon deployed at Ajanta. The Rupee Symbol design journey and the preview of Design Degree Show ‘15 of IDC was also the part of exhibit.
