By the end of this module participants will be able to: Create and maintain a blog for a virtual/blended learning environment The specific competencies that you will be able to perform are: Analyze blogs and their use in an educational environment (Why) Publish a blog for use in an educational environment (How) Demonstrate to your students how to use the blog to foster learner autonomy (Application) Overview: The basis for the quizzes will be listening and reading comprehension and using knowledge gained to assess participant learning after completion of Session 1: An Introduction to Web 2.0 tools: Blogs. All quizzes will be available to take online using Google docs. Student quizzes will be submitted to the workshop facilitator who will give participants their results and discuss them before moving on to Session 2: Designing and Publishing your own Blog. The three quizzes that are available for assessing participant learning are: First, each participant will watch a short tutorial related to the general facts about blogs and will answer “Matching” questions. Second, they will read an article about using Web 2.0 tools such as blogs in a blended learning environment and answer “True/False” questions. Finally, they will watch an educational blog tutorial and answer “Multiple Choice” questions. 1

Workshop Title:

Course Description: Using Technology to Create Blended Learning

Environments is a professional development workshop for teachers to
