This statement was uttered by every single failed business owner EVER! You cannot expect to grow your business by not keeping up with the times just because “this is how you have always done it”. I will show you how to make use of the endless supply of free information available to you to keep your rink up to date with the latest trends. I will also show you how to keep thing fresh and entertaining for your customers. You have to remember that your target audience is not the same one as it was 10 or even 5 years ago. Todays youth are very tech savvy and they are very aware of what is popular and what is “lame”. You can save

hundreds of dollars by investing some time in simple research to keep on the cutting edge of what is popular, thus attracting your target audience. Why play catch up to the next big thing and getting stuck with product that stops being popular, or playing out of date music, or not having décor that appeals to your desired demographic. Especially when the information is literally right at your fingertips. I will go into greater detail on where to find this information and provide some links that you can take back to the hotel room and do the research using the free Wi-Fi tonight! You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.

Find out how some operators use all types of feedback and turn them into positives through engaging the customer directly, but not right away as they think before they post!

5:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.COORDINATE DON’T COMPETEThis session, hosted by Matthew Olson with American Carnival Mart, will focus on how to join in the community “buzz” that gets generated by community events. You have a finite amount of customers within your area, why compete with other events when you can coordinate. By doing this you keep your regular customers, potentially gain some new ones, and you “join” the community as a supporter of the events, making you and your rink more popular. In the talk I will go into greater detail about how to approach the groups and how to become more involved. You will learn how to cross promote rather than play “rob your neighbor” with the community events. I will even provide you with some methods and tools you can take home and use immediately.

8 P.M. - 10 P.M.SURE-GRIP PARTYDon’t let the word “reception” fool you. These parties are always a huge hit with members, with great food, entertainment and fun. Come join the Sure-Grip and Roller Derby/Pacer team at back to the future event.

WEDNESDAYMAY 16

8:15 A.M. - 10:15 A.M.PROMOTIONS: IT’S A DATE! (SPONSORED BY FETCHREV)Learn how to best utilize the RSA promotions calendar to build promotions in your facility. During this seminar you and your fellow rink operators will have the opportunity to build promotions using the calendar as a tool.
