STEP ONE.
Request the following information from your school Principal:- Summary of school community including:
Total Enrolment of schoolGrade breakdownEthnic makeup of communitySchool SLIP
Identify school priorities:AcademicsTechnologyFacilitiesSchool SafetyOther priority needs
GET TO KNOW YOUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY
STEP ONE.
1. Number of members / make-up of council this year.
2. Number of meetings last year compared to those planned this year.
3. Issues discussed at meetings and results of those discussions (review of last year’s minutes).
4. Recommendations to the Principal and results of those recommendations.
5. Fundraising activities.6. Items funded and those traditionally funded.7. Carryover budget8. Parent Engagement strategies and results
REVIEW OF PREVIOUS YEAR CSAC PRIORITIESAND ACTIVITIES
STEP ONE.
Working with the Principal, determine what the school requires to support student achievement ie. technology, art supplies, musical instruments, etc.
As a committee, discuss how CSAC can support these needs ie. fundraising, volunteering in classes, library etc.
Following these discussions, begin to develop your school council 3 year plan.
