DESCRIPTIONOverburden, no recovery. Casing left in.
Medium-grained dark grey/green massive gabbro, somewhat variable in texture andcomposition due to alteration and local possible hybridization with a later graniticintrusive. Very fine-grained mafic component, mostly hornblende with weakbiotite. Local 1-3mm round grey/blue quartz eyes. Feldspar is variably altered, typical diffuse crystal margins and common saussuritization as well as patchypink/orange to red ?K-spar. Moderately fractured, 1-2 07o fine quartz veining andfJ.5-1% very fine-grained disseminated pyrite ^pyrrhotite), local patchy weakmagnetite and locally up to 1 or 2 07o fine powdery white ?leucoxene.
30.30 - 41 .00: Weak to moderate silica-K-spar alteration, very diffuse crystalmargins and local mottled texture. Core is strongly fractured with weak ironoxide coatings.
44.20 - 47.00: Siliceous and aphanitic and reddish, moderate to strong silica-K-spar alteration.
57.80 - 67.00: Rock becomes fine-grained, light grey and quartz/feldspar rich, granitization? or hybidization with ID-15% ragged 'patches' of medium-grainedgabbro (+IOC3I blue quartz eyes).
67.00 -83.00: Fine-grained dark grey/green altered gabbro strong pervasivebiotite mottled with cm-scale 'patches' of strong silicification, sugary andrecrystallized, trace sulphides only.
Medium-grained medium grey massive felsic intrusive IS-18% very fine-grainedmafic component of hornblendetbiotite. Quartz and feldspar commonly havevery diffuse crystal margins and are weakly saussuritized. Feldspar is white creamand orangish (K-spar? alteration?). Weak to moderate fracturing and 2-307o?quartz calcite veining, dominantly at 350 to core axis. Trace very fine-grained

DESCRIPTIONOverburden, no recovery, casing left in.
Medium- to coarse-grained, massive granitic. Very felsic, ^07o very fine-grainedblack amphibole?, blue-grey quartz and creamy beige or milky white diffusefeldspar that is locally altered pink-orange to red. Rock contains S-10% cm-scale mafic xenoliths of fine-grained pristine mafic (dyke?) plus gabbro andfeldspar porphyry of mafic composition. Xenoliths are very irregular in shape.Patchy weak magnetism and 1 to 3 07o fine-grained disseminated pyritepyrrhotite. Competent, hard, brittle fracturing. Strongly fractured to 35.20'mostly with iron oxide coatings, then moderately.
Medium-grained, dark green/grey massive mafic intrusive - gabbro. Typicalor classic gabbro, amphibole-rich with varying amounts of visible feldspar,u-12% (locally weakly saussuritized). 1-2 07o mm quartz veining and S-5% cm-scale grey-pink granitic dykelets. Overall fJ.5% very fine-grained disseminatedpyrite+pyrrhotite and approximately 2-3 07o disseminated magnetite (moderatelymagnetic).
1 18.50 - 136.50: Somewhat more intermediate in composition (dioritic) possiblyintimately hybridized with granitic pink feldspar.
206.30 - 245.20: Gabbro fades into and out of non-magnetic feldsparporphyry 80 07o of section. Feldspar porphyry has fine-grained mafic groundmassand 15-2007o milky white or weakly saussuritized subhedral, mm-scale feldsparphenocryst^, diffuse contacts, trace sulphides only, 1-2 07o quartz±calciteveining and non-magnetic.
245.20: Rock becomes very dark and mafic (amphibole) rich. Moderate toquite strongly magnetic.
