IS THE LOVE GONE?
You loved meYou wanted me
You asked me to be your wife
You touched meYou dreamed of me
You wanted me to share your life
Times changePeople change
And now youve changed your mindI want youI need you
Youre my hearts greatest find
Id follow youId beg you
If I thought it would do any goodI pray for youI dream of you
Ive done everything I could
Its over now,Youve made it clearI cant fit in your life
My heart achesMy tears flow
My whole worlds full of strife
I love youI want you
Id love you by my sideI still pray
I still dreamSome day Ill be your bride
Some daySomewhereYour heart will ache for mine
That dayLook for me
Ill come running any time!!!

DONT YOU KNOW?
You say you dont know if you love me,
Im learning to live with that.
You say you want others around you
I guess I cant blame you for that.
I just pray Im not being used,
Or being made into a fool.
My love for you is real love,
And my love runs deep as a rule.
I would do anything for you,
Im sure that you know that by now.
I pray that some day you will love me,
And be able to tell me just how.
If that day ever comes dear,
Do you know how happy Ill be?
I think that Ill cry with joy, love,
If you ever say you love me!

A PRAYER FOR OUR BABY
Dear God, youve blessed me with this child
A surprise and such a pleasureBut I must ask a special favor
For this babe, Ill truly treasure
Dont let my health slip awayDont let my body fail me
I carry the son of the man I love,And I want to have his baby
Protect me from harm until hes bornAnd then please watch over him
Give me the strength that I will needAnd give me a chance to hold him
Give me a fighting chance for this childAnd I promise your praises Ill singDont let me lose this precious lifeAnd I wont ask for another thing
Im doing my best to watch my healthBut the doctors say I need more
For only your help will get me throughThe hospitals delivery room door

TRUE LOVE
There are lots of lovers in this old World
Some love a lot stronger than othersLike a glorious flag thats been unfurled
My love for you waves above others
A mother loves her newborn babyWith a willingness to sacrifice allShe may always want to be a ladyBut for her child she will take a fall
Kids love their kindergarten teachersWith such undying admiration
Sometimes a friend and sometimes a preacherShes busy molding a new nation
Sometimes people feel such an unreal loveConvincing themselves its the real thing
Believing it comes from God aboveBut loneliness wont fade with a ring
Lucky for me my true love has been foundDeep in his heart I know he loves me
Because of this love my desires aboundAnd I know it was all meant to be
Someday well be together foreverAnd all the rest of the world will seeTrue love can conquer any endeavorAnd darling, our love will always be

BE GENTLE
Please be gentle with my heart
Just like you are with meAlready I miss you when were apart
And its you I want to see
Reassurance is something I need
Ive been hurt before
Honesty and kindness is the seed
To make my love grow more
I wasnt looking when we met
For anyone for love
But since its found, you can bet
I thank the stars above
Some day soon we can be sureIf we were meant to be
I do believe your love is pure
The same is true for me
So if you love me like you say
And hope we never part
Just remember this, I pray
Be gentle with my heart

A WISH GRANTED
Once upon a falling star
A wish was made by meTo have your love forever
And for all eternity
God heard my wish and noddedAnd made a deal with me
If I would help make others smileHed grant my wish, you see
So now youre mine foreverYes God has promised this
And in our vows, we said the sameAnd sealed it with a kiss
Although at times we wont agreeYes, sometimes we will fight
Well work things out and patch them upIf we keep Gods love in sight
So if I seem on edge at timesIf I try to pick a fight
Lets say the Devil made me do itAnd then just hold me tight
Forgiving and ForgettingAre the only tools required
To build a happy, loving homeAnd to have all things desired

NO ONE ELSE!
You think you stole me from my manYoure wrong, it isnt true
The love Id felt for him was goneBefore I fell for you
So now, you see, your fears are wrongAnother man cant take me
If you should want me to leave your sideYoull surely have to make me
My love for you is so much strongerThan I ever felt before
Sure, I loved him years & years ago
But still, I love you more
Your jealousy is crazyYour questionings absurd
Id like to stop your worriesBut I just cant find the words
If you want me, Ill be yoursFor all eternity
If you think Ill love anotherIll forgive your insanity
Ill admit that Im not perfectThat Im sure you know
But to think Id want another manAll I say is No!
I strive to make you a happy manI will do anything
On the day that we were joined as oneI said it with a ring
So next time you think I want someone elseJust stop & think of this
Youre the only man Ill ever wantLets seal it with a kiss.
I Love You!

THE BLUES
Whenever I get mad, enraged,
Sad, or just plain blue
Ive found a good solution
So, this is what I do:
I take a paper and a pen
I write it down in verse
Usually, I exaggerate
Which makes it all sound worse
I dont cry, or yell or holler
I just put it all in rhyme
By then the blues have gone away
And I am feeling fine

TEDDY BEAR
My hubby has a teddy bear
Hes had for years & yearsHes been there for the good times
And helped him through the tears
Hes been a comfort thru the times
When no one else would care
That is why, to this very day
He still has Teddy Bear
Now he shares his joys with me
And also shares the pain
We share the good times and the bad
And walk together in the rain
Well, Teddy isnt needed now
Though hes still doing fine
His days of comforting are gone
Cause now that job is mine
But Teddy hasnt been forgotten
No, that cannot be said
He has a place of honor
On the headboard of our bed

STRANGER
I had a car that ran so well
A family full of smiles
Everything was going fineTil you flew across the miles
Then the nightmares all began
Kids crying in the night
School grades dropping rapidly
Theres nothing going right
Finally you called and gave us strength
To get through all the days
A card for each of us helped, tooBut then you changed your ways
No more calls, no letters at all
Its like you disappeared
My fears began, that youre a stranger
I envision you with a beard
Tears have begun to stain my pillow
There are lots of sleepless nights
The kids dont understand
And every day theyre into fights
Your family misses you, oh, so much
We need to hear from you
Im so sad, so very lonely
Please tell me what to do
Every day a letter goes out
Are they getting through?
My dear, I Love and Miss You
Id like to hear the same from you
Each day I run to check the mail
Hoping theres something there
But every time, its just the same
Darling, dont you care?

TEDDY REVISITED
Teddy had retiredTo our headboard shelfHe was quite contentTo be all by himself
Then I was desertedBy my loving spouse
Who had to go & leave meAlone in our big house
Nights were long and lonelyThey left me feeling scared
What I really neededWas to feel that someone cared
My husband was so far awayWe couldnt talk by phoneSo every night at bedtime
I felt sad and alone
One night at bedtimeI lay in bed weepingA great idea hit me
Which has helped my sleeping
I reached to the shelfWhere Teddy sat, above
When suddenly I feltAll my husbands love
Through all this separationTeddys always been there
I hug him and I squeeze himAnd he really seems to care
He listens to my problemsPuts up with my tearsSuffers my frustrations
Protects me from my fears
When my husband comes back homeI have a lesson to share
And each one of our children

SECOND TIME AROUND
There once was a woman who was an abused wife
Who decided it was time to make some changes in her life
So she went & saw a lawyer to learn about her rightsHe said that she should leave him, and then quoted her, his price
The price for freedom would be high she learned that dayBut if she wanted peace of mind, it was a price shed have to pay
So then one night she decided to go skating for a whileAnd there she met a young man who knew how to make her smile
They talked, they skated, and then they talked some moreHe was such a gentleman, he walked her to the door
They saw each other more & more, their feelings grew & grewBut he was much too young for her, that much she even knew
She had three kids & bills to pay, he was just getting startedThe age difference bothered her, but she ached even more, each time
they parted
He was gentle, kind, & good, and wise beyond his years
The thought of them going their separate ways, brought both of them totears
Family and friends all thought they were crazy: Her husband threw a rageThey searched their hearts & then decided To Hell with this difference in
age
She got her divorce and they were married, her kids all love him soEveryones happier and theres so much more laughter than there was a
year ago
So now hes a Daddy to three little girls & has lots of bills to payBut when she asked him if he regrets what he did, he says Ill have it no
other way
So heres a couple who broke all the rules of societys standards of rightBut instead of problems & sorrows & pain, they Thank God for their love
every night

CONDITIONAL LOVE
Conditional love creates many clashesIt turns a relationship into ashes
No more ifsNo more buts
Un-conditional love is what really takes guts
Accepting a person when changes occur
Accepting those changes & still loving herI love you stillI always will
Words that will help love get over the hill
Conditional love is cruel to the heartIt gnaws & it gnaws til it tears you apart
Ill love you, ifIll love you, when
Isnt conditional love a real sin?
Next time you put ifs out to your loveYoud better thank your stars up above
Christ died for me
Christ died for youHe didnt say if you do, Ill love you

HURRY UP.AND WAIT
Surprise Party 5 oclock
Please do not be lateThen the guest of honor
Is finally there at 8
Cocktail hour 6 oclock
Thats the usual time
Why then, is it dinner
parties
Never serve til 9?
It seems in this world
Where you shouldnt be
late
Todays motto must be
Hurry up and wait
Your plane leaves at 12
oclockYouve been there time &
again
Why must they always
make you
Check your baggage in by
10?
The doctor says at 10
oclockHell treat you for the flu
Youve picked up even
more germs
When youre finally seen
at 2
Modern days, theres no
denying
Are definitely great
Except that we are stuck
with
All this Hurry up and
wait

You hurry home at 3
You still have supper to
fix
Your husband calls at 5
He wont be home til 6
One hour tune-ups
Take 2 hours more
Their signs should read
In by one, out by four
Someone must have known
When he said Its never
too lateWed be living in a society
Of Hurry up and wait
Youre running late
Your train leaves at 9
Its always late
Today, its on time
Even Congress has its
times
When it has a great
debate
On all these bills, dear
Senators
You just Hurry up..&
Wait!

Of the Proud and the Few

When you choose to becomeA Marines loving wife

And you cant always scareWith tonight you will tell
With the pains involvedWhy do you stay?
Because you love himYou live life this way

IM TIRED
Im a mother of three kids, a waitress, and a wife
Im about to tell you something Ive never said in my life
I say this at the risk of hurt, rejection, and being firedBut I must say it now, Dear God, I am so tired.
Of gas prices, food prices, all this talk of warsInconsiderate and rude people, and those who are real bores
Im tired of smiling when I dont want to, trying to be strongUnkept promises, getting mad, the feeling that Im the one
whos wrong
Being volunteered, but never asked; not having time for meBosses who show no concern that you have a family
Utility bills, bathtub rings, sleeping all alonePicking up after everyone, waiting for him to phone
Corresponding with computers, unanswered mail
Doing housework that doesnt show, bailing friends out of jail
Im tired of feeling used, and taken for grantedAnd every other year my family is transplanted
You probably wonder why then, do I put up with all of thisBecause of hugs, caresses, I Love Yous and his kisses

TIME FOR DEPLOYMENT
A Marine wife learns to handle almost every situation
While her husband is preparing to help protect our nation
He asks how everything is going when he comes home eachnight
Then she will tell him, honestly, everythings all right
Bills are paid, the car runs fine, kids are doing well in schoolThe dentist says no cavities, and the kitchen cupboards full
She runs the house while hes at school, or in the field on dutyEverything goes smooth & she finds time to knit a booty
TADs, range, school & empty nights take their tollBut the Marine wife continues daily in he together role
Deployment time comes around & now shes on her ownIf problems come about, now, he cant come running home
Everythings fine, nothing to worry, it wont be very long
Its only six months, what could possible go wrong?
She sees him off, she smiles big, somehow she hides the tearsBut smiles & promises & kisses cant dissolve the fears
Letter one is cheerful, full of loving words & kissesLetter two is talk of work & all the things she misses
Letter three says no problems, everyones OkayBut now the landlord says that theres a higher rent to pay
Four says she was locked out, but climbed in through a windowFive asks whatever do you do when all the fuses blow?
Six says the plumbers doing crazysinks are backing upSeven says shes sorry but Johnny broke his favorite cup

Eight asks whats a carburetor and how much should it cost?Nine, she fixed the flat, but her check, it seems, is lost
Letter ten is full of love, a letter really thickIt seem she missed work todaythe baby sitters sick
Letters roll in one by one, always full of loveI finally taught sally it is not polite to shove!
Number thirty says I Love YouPlease come home soonThirty-one ends Oh, yes, housing called today at noon!
Moving in was lots of work & everything looks fineIts our anniversaryDad brought a bottle of wine
She replaced the dryer belt & the washers hoseBut says it took a doctor to fix Tommys broken nose
She mows the yard, weeds the garden, then tunes up the carAnd even finds some time to learn to play the guitar
Homecoming time rolls around, the house is full of joyHe comes home & shes not therecongratulationsIts a Boy!

FREEDOM
I soar on the wings of freedom,I fly on my own wings now,
No longer tethered by another ones chains.I reach for heights never dreamed of,
For I was not allowed dreams of my own.I feel fear in the pit of my stomach
As I reach for the future,But I feel tingly with anticipation, too.
My choices will be mine.I see sunshine and clouds ahead, but I know
that
my wings are strong enough, and thatfreedom is mine

THE BATH
Melting into the porcelain basin,Warmth engulfs my body
As I inhale the raspberry scent,
Almost tasting its sweetness.
I relax, recline, and close my eyes,Welcoming darkness.
I surrender to the peacefulness;Candles flickering, steam clouds
billowing,Slowly rising, taking my tensions
with them.
Troubles?Who cares!
There are none when Im in mybubble bath.

HELP WITH A HEAVY LOAD
A heavy loadSuccess unsure
They wait for him to fail.A burden so taxingA weight so intense
Observers mock his pain.Only faith and a strong back
Will bring triumphThough bystanders snicker
He wont give up.He will pray for strength
To lighten his load;To ease his stress; To laugh at those
Who thought he would quit. With God, this load is not heavy.

To My Son Tre
This is a poem to my son TreWho thirsts for knowledge every day
A sensitive and loving childWhose look of love can make me smile
Taken from your mother,Your dad makes you accept another
Teaches hate and anger, tooTearful, I try reaching you.
I let you down, son,When you were counting on me to be the one
To help you escape the lovelessExistence you hate because
I was too weak
To continue the fightWhen I was dragged down
Parents who hate always hurt their kidsWhen allowing the fights to go onThey must learn to let go for the
Sake of the children created in loveSo they will never think they were the cause
Forgive my selfish fear of failureAs I work to bring you home to meMy son, my love, my Tre

The Mother Hen in Me
Guarding my children in every way,When they sleep and when they
play.Encircling them with loving arms,Protecting them from any harm.
Hurt my child and you will see,
A completely different side of me.For my children I will fight,Protecting them with all my might.
It is so hard to watch them grow,Deep inside of me I know
Even though I love them so,The day will come to let them go.

GRANDMA MARY
Grandma Mary was a cheerful woman.
When we arrived at her house, she would practically sing her hellos to us.
We could hear the smile in her voice, and knew that she was truly
happy to see us.
I remember picking her up at the airport when she came to visit
with us one time.
I could hear her smiling voice before I could see her.
She was talking to another woman as they got off the plane,
and her voice had that singing smile in it.
It just didnt matter if she was giving advice,
welcoming a family member, or giving a recipe,
she seemed to sing.
People always smiled when she was talking to them,
and I never really understood until much later
what it was that she did to make people so happy.
Whenever she wrote to me, as I opened the letter,
with the very first word, I could hear her voice
reading the letter to me.
Hearing her voice always made me smile,
even if hearing it was only in my mind. Her love poured out in her voice,
caressing me to my very soul.
Grandmas been gone for many years, but whenever I prepare
the recipes that she taught,
I still hear the recipe in her lilting voice.
When I remember her words, theyre in that same melody
as the one I first heard them.
I never hear her words in any voice but hers.
She was such a cheerful person, and I feel lucky
that she sang her love to me,
so that it can stay with me forever.

GREEN
As I lay in the field of green grass,I relax and dream.
As the green shades change,I remember the cabbage rolls
that grandma made. The aroma crept out of the house,
traveling to the green motel
that grandma & grandpa ran.I see the green of the algae
on the water in the covewhere I first learned to fish,
With its calmness and serenity, and anticipation.
I ponder the green skin
from the numerous fading bruisesAnd am reminded that greenis the color of jealousy, too.
I feel the fear when the sky turns greenwhen A tornado is near.
Or, I just lay wrapped in my greencomforter,
lazy and carefree, and dream of green, grassy fields.

A LESSON IN DIGNITY(Yours and Theirs)
Hold your tongue; when a strangersays unkind things
about you when you know there is no
truth to them.
Hold your tongue; when a friend tellsyou their problems,
because you will listen, even thoughyou want to give advice.
Hold your tongue; when the peoplearound you are trying to take credit
for something you have doneto make things better.
Hold your tongue; when your child
makes a decision that you know willnot make them happy, but wont kill
them either.
Then, hold your tongue.

CHILD REARING
To raise a child wholl make you proud, you have to start at birth.
Unconditional love is necessaryto raise a loving child.
For at least 6 months, spoil the childit will develop the childs self esteem.
Next you must start to disciplinebut do it with respect.Hate the action, but love the child.
Pet names are fun,but avoid name-calling.
Be an example to your childbe honest and expect the same.
Avoid abuse whether physical or mental.
Praise your child, dont put it down others will do enough of that.
Keep expectations high, but not out of reach.A child will live up to or down to
whatever expectations you place on it.Give love unconditionally, it is the only way theyll
learn to love.
Enjoy every day, theyll be gone far too soon.

Stretched from porch to tree.DewdropsClinging
See the webs beauty.
Sunlight glimmers on thedewdrops that cling to the spiders
web.Like rare jewels, they shimmer and
shine until the sun takes themaway.
Though it blocks my way, Ill goaround.
The silken beauty beckons herprey, so that she may eat.
What a shame that such intricatework must be destroyed in order
to do what it was meant for! But, until that moment,
